Turbo Help Please! I'm Begging!
Ok, first and foremost i just got my GReddy turbo kit installed on friday. The installer noticed after putting the kit in that there was a weld not finished by Greddy on the exhaust manifold where two pipes meet. A line about 1/2 an inch not finished. It was too late at night to get it done by the welder. The car ran great and it showed boost on my guage. I took it today to the tuner Shawn Church in Long beach. He set everything up and tried to start tuning it. I have an A/T. He put it in 3 and started to go a little on the gas. No boost. When he pushed harder on the pedal, a little more than half way, the engine would suddenly boost to 15 psi and he would shut it down. He stated to me that there is not enough pressure from the manifold to open up the wastegate even though the guage is showing boost. We checked everything and it is all secure and tight. Could the problem really be the gap in the manifold? Is it really that serious that it's not creating enough pressure to open the wastegate or could it be the wastegate itself?
oh and the tuner put a base map on the ecu. But now when I'm stopped, I can feel the engine putter. Is that normal?
Please help! i'm so depressed right now...

man, that sucks that your manifold came with a hole in it.....i'd probably guess something the size of 1/2 inch unwelded would not hold up enough pressure.....yikes, 15 psi.....thats pretty damn dangerous robin! haha.....hopefully all works out for you this weekend, cause i still want to see this setup!!! good luck man...
Robin, notify wherever u bought it from and get a replacement manifold...don't worry about having another shop fixing it and you having to pay more for it...the company you got it from should cover it...Hope all is good because i also can't wait to see it...now i know why you didn't go to the super autobacs meet...

I would say it's the wastegate. The greddy is known for problems with it from shipping. Make sure the actuator isn't damaged in any way. Also check that it can open by hand with no problems. As for the manifold, call who you got it from, if not call greddy.
