lastnight, had an issues with a freind's boyfriend. he had gotten drunk and started flippin out. he started thrownin crap around, he completely destroyed the kitchen and dinning room area of thier apartment. he had ripped the stove to pieces and halfway ripped the frig doors off. i grabbed my things and told my freind to head for my xB because it was scaring the living crap out of her. the guy came around, grabbed her and punched her in the ribs. i chucked my sobe bottel at him, hit him on the forhead. got my freind back up on her feet and started heading for the door... she turns around for her phone charger even though i told her not to worry about it. the guy gets back up, locked the door before i could get inside to help her and he starts hrowning her around the apartment room. so i went next door and grabed this guy's so called best freind and got him in on this. got the door open and this guys freind pushed the guy into a chair and started questioning his motives. at this time i grabbed my freind to get out and headed toward the xB. we noticed the guy was trying to follow but he was still up on the second story walk ways of the apartment building so we rushed over, got inside and started driving off. not 30 seconds later, the guy comes right behind us in this heavy a$$ car trying to tail us. this is where my respect and confidence in the xB has increased greatly. it was raining really bad durring all of this which gave advantage to me whilest the guy was driving some 2 and half ton Linkon Town car by the looks of it. i started taking random turns in a housed area at around 45-50 on the corners and 60 through the straights. too about 15 turns to loose him and then we pulled the old trick of hiding in a random parking way of some random house and waited untill he passed. after that i pulled out and spead the other direction toward the freeway and took my freind to her mother's.
and yes, we attempted to call the uniforms, but the phone was boken in the process of trying to talk to the dispatcher. after that i took matters into my own hands and got her out. let this be known to future box buyers... the handeling on it is amazing, even when the roads are wet.

the guy was somewhat drunk and my freind went to give him one of them peck kisses or whatever. he wouldn't let her have a kiss and so she just turned around and left him alone and thats when he just lost it.
as for the turns, there wasn't alot of cover and i didn't want to risk parking in a driveway that left me in plain site. the one i finaly parked in also gave me enough time to park carefuly without hitting one of the house owner's cars. it was kind of like a basement garage in a way. the garage doors were 10 feet below the front yard so you can imagen, a house looking like a single story, but is a two story and is noticable as soon as oyu pull into the driveway parking area that leads straight into the basement garage.only the top of my fin on the back was visible so it made it a perfect spot to sit. i had about 5-7 seconds of time ahead of him so i had plenty of time to do it right at that point.

dam dood, rough night.... glad he didnt hit the box too while he was at it :P keep us updated on what happens,,, sounds crazy. is she ok? sounds like she got a couple blows...
Winter
04-08-2007, 08:11 PM
ya shes fine, she tweaked ehr back pretty good but other then that she took the other blows he did just fine. they were mainly around her hips on the sides. no bruising or pain in those areas so she'll be fine. her back wasn't all to great to begin with so that was expected.
this is about as far as it's really gona get. lastnight was the first time i've ever met the guy and i don't plan on meeting him again. even though how much i want to go back and beat the crap out of him for what he did, i have no idea where he is now. all i know is that i'm 80 miles north of where it happened and i plan to keep that distance haha.

ya it's power band may not be all that great, but get it in there and it will take off.
freind of mine wants to race me. he has a 91 corolla and claims it's got the 2.4L VVTi from the Camry, new steering system and it's a manual.
i know for a fact that i can take him off the line, but as soon as he hits 5th i'm out. his 1st through 4th is the same as the xB's 2nd-5th. his 5th is ratioed around 0.57 so once he hits his mid 4th hill start to leave me.
i had my freind hangin on the "oh sh!t" handels the intire time. thankfuly, she didn't make a single noise cause i needed all the focus i could get when driving that fast in the heavy rain.

Hmmmmmm... That reminds me that I need to get my non-display sword back from a friend who borrowed it. Hope he didn't leave fingerprints on it - that high-carbon steel blade rusts if you just look at it wrong, and I'd hate to have to take it back to the swordmaker to be put right again. (Urk! I don't even know how to find my swordmaker - he's not in the phonebook anymore!) :(

Sorry to go a little off topic here, but I kept being reminded of this pic every time I came to this topic. Sadly, I don't remember who's xB this was - and there were some really excellent videos of it wailing around the track, too. Anyway, xBs do pretty darn well when pushed beyond all reasonable expectations for a flying box...
IIRC, this particular box was giving a Corvette fits - the Corvette would simply pull away strongly every time the track straightened out, but that pesky box kept closing the gap every time there were corners. Eventually the 'vette spun out trying to get away from the box. :D

haha well i did chuck a bottle at his head to distract him. he got a little dazed by that so i took the opertunity to get my freind heading to the door. we would have been out of there then but she felt that her phone charger was important enough to go back and risk her life again for it. she got a ration of crap for that move from the mother unit
Good to know I can now chase my daughters boyfriends at high speeds!
haha! you could when it comes to cornering possibly. it's it any honda though you would have a hard time unless you did suspension mod to your box. any little car would cause a problem i think because they would be right there with you.
Hey Tom, do you know if that box there had an aftermarket front sway on it or it's stock or none at all? i don't care about top end, i want my handeling and acceleration so i'd like to know for my handeling interest.

04-20-2007, 06:22 AM
Once the restraining order is granted, courts usually require the parties to exit at different times to reinforce that the separation has officially started right then and there. If the court doesn't do that, it wouldn't hurt to do it yourselves. (Last time I was involved as 'moral support' for a young lady getting an order, we borrowed a friend's 6'6", 320 pound college football boyfriend for the afternoon as punctuation. At least the look on the other guy's face was fun when the door was fill by a guy the size of a '58 Buick.)
Wish you well on the order!

Tomas
04-21-2007, 08:33 PM
Fantastic! First time I've actually seen that site, Andy.
All I can say is that the box has one heck of a suspension setup for just an ordinary car. If it had a bunch more HP and a limited slip it just might take a lot of those "fast cars" it is shown running with. Love the videos. :)
Interesting how this serious driver ended up driving the box by preference so much of the time. I guess we're NOT all nuts. If a guy with BMW, Aston-Martin, Lotus, Porsche, Ducatti, and other snazzy vehicles to chose from, sometimes just prefers to drive his box, they can't be ALL bad, eh? :D
