I think of lowering my new tC then, getting an exhaust, then saving up for a turbo kit. Is there anything I would have to change to make the turbo work properly? I have an automatic by the way. I mean is the stock equipment strong enough to support the power?

 

up to about 230 WHP. Check out www.ZPIracing.net , They have a stage 0 kit wich is perfect for an automatic tC, and its upgradable to a stage one. they also offer a valve body upgrade for when you want to up the boost! have fun with it!

 

Yeah I had the stage 0.5 zpi kit on my A/T and it worked great, i had 228 at the wheels, and all i added is injectors and fuel management, and a 30 oil cooler for the tranny

 

Alright thanks guys that looks like exactly what I want. Seems like getting the upgraded valve body is a wide purchase. Seems like I have to take the existing one off my car and ship it to them is that correct? What else do you guys recommend in terms of fuel injectors, fuel management, and oil cooler?


And what's a good deep exhaust to go with a turbocharger?

 

So what if u go with stage 1 ? U said up to 230whp, what to do when u pass that and go with stage 1 ?

 

Transmission has a hard time holding it. sliping trany and eventually blown tranny

 

I'm running 240HP/TQ currently and tranny is holding fine. I guess time will tell. 318tc I think was upwards of 275HP until he noticed the tranny to slip. Not sure though. But like the others said the zpi stage 0 will run good on the auto. A turbo pulls HARD on the auto too!!

 

I noticed slip around 250, took about 3 months after that till it gave up and i lost 1,2 gear.

Im now a 5spd.

 

Who needs 1st and 2nd gear in a turbo anyways Hows the 5spd treating ya?
