Default new fiberglassed system and painted valve cover (56k nahh)

you guys might remember my old system, all done up in eclipse.

i wasnt happy with the sound of that setup, so i sold it all and went elemental designs. i got rid of my cap, no real use for it. with this set up i redid all my wiring. ran 0 gauge to the amps, and ran 12guage twisted wire to my front components. also did my big 3 in 4 gauge. between the speakers there is a pretty big empty space. im thinking of doing a molded painted piece, with a 7 or 8 inch screen in it.

i have the 2 6500s being pushed by a nine.2 amp.
the 2 12" 130v2s run at 1ohm by a nine.1 1200w amp

im very happy with this setup, it sounds great. here are some pics

its just the dupli color high temp paint. you gotta prep the valve cover good. i took it off, and cleaned it with de-greaser. then scrubbed the whole thing with steel wool. my vc used to be polished so it wasnt hard to get it clean. after that paint it give it a few coats, let it dry and put it back on.

just gotta be careful putting it on as it can get chipped and scratched. not as nice as powdercoating, but it works.

Have you noticed a benefit from the Big Three wiring? I've done it too with 4awg, and my lights still dim from one 13O.v2.

the only solution i have to not dimming is HID's. that was my next purchase.

i'm gonna do the big 3 with 0 gauge so that should help

Well, rocketgirl praised the benefits so well, I thought it was weird that i'm having problems with only 1000 watts going through my car. I'm going to try moving the chassis connection around.

yeah i have hids, so dimmin lights isnt problem for me, plus i have 0awg running to my amps. doing the big 3 i noticed it did help with voltage drops, and got me sitting at 14.1 volts with out the system bumping. make sure th groun on your amp is good, that will help your current draw problem. are you running another amp?

insead of just moving the chassis ground around for the big 3... sand off all the paint and crud so that the ground is as good as it can be.

or if you're running a lot of power get another thing of 0 gauge and run it back to your negative. thats what they say you should do if you're running 1000 watts max

yep make sure you have good grounds, scratch all the paint off an ground on bare metal. the best place to ground is the frame rail, so ground the battery, engine, and amps to that. good grounds are more importan than you might think.

i duno about running a 0awg from your battery to the front, can only imigine th noise problems you may have running another power cable like that. generaly i like to keeps grounds as short as possible. if your doing an install in a beamer or car with the battery in the trunk then grounding to the battery is great. but give it a shot, ive never done it like that.

With the engine cranking, i'm sitting at 14.2 volts according to the battery terminal I have with a volt meter built in. I honestly have no idea what i've done wrong. It may be the ground in the trunk. I have it grounded where that hook used to be. From there it goes into a distro block unfused, and into my two amps, which draw 360 and 600 watts respectively.

Neo, any wire i've added to my car has had the contact point sanded down.

If I could get my headlights to not dim, and my entire car to stop rattling like a beater, i'd be a happy camper.

pretty off topic but just wanna show you guys the dash i did for my buddy in his accord. just finished it yesterday and put it in.

http://board.accordtuner.com/showthread.php?t=31523

he wanted a touch screen molded in, with the radio under it. he wanted me to fill the pocket in, but i thought it would look better keeping it.

let me know what you guys think of it!
