scionofPCFL 04-10-2007, 01:57 PM Quite honestly, I like the way they look, especially the little green 2door. But then I see the Bowtie and assume that chevy will screw it all up somehow.
Big_Bird 04-10-2007, 02:00 PM ^^lol, pretty much
they look better in person though, if they weren't chevy, i would really love these things, saw them at nyias
cessblood 04-10-2007, 02:21 PM this is the start of the clone wars. GM they might have some good performance mods for them like they did for the cobalt. but I could be wrong.
THE_DON 04-10-2007, 03:03 PM They look better than the Aveo! That's a start.
-THE DON
scionofPCFL 04-10-2007, 03:26 PM Folks, keep in mind, the HHR is $23k car.
Reoken 04-10-2007, 03:37 PM lol the purple once screams second generation xb
PhilP10 04-11-2007, 05:50 AM These things are tiny in person their not subcompacts like the xA, xB1, and xD their Microcars. The Groove and Beat do look good though..
lufoxe 04-11-2007, 03:23 PM Dude I am all for these cars, I like to boxy one (obviously from my car) But the real reason I like it... 1L Diesel Engine... Imagine the gas milage
roXor_boXor 04-12-2007, 04:51 AM But the real reason I like it... 1L Diesel Engine... Imagine the gas milage
Imagine clocking 0-60 with a sundial.
These are identified as concept cars. If they actually build them they will be significantly Cobaltized/ Aveonated when they arrive. :P

You won't need to clock the 0-60. On these cars they are meant for city only. So not very fast driving is needed (usually). I would sacrafice 0-60 for more gas milage (I do it with my xB)
Too bad they are to be designed and made in Korea. *Cough Aveo Cough*
scionofPCFL 04-12-2007, 02:08 PM This just in, the blonde model is only 5'1" and 88 lbs. She was chosen to make the cars look huuuuuge*
*there's a possibilty that I just made that up.
draxcaliber 04-12-2007, 02:08 PM chevy copying other car companies sucesses isn't anything new. the camaro was a copy of the mustang. the corvette was designed to mimic the european sports coupes, the hhr is a rip off of the pt loser, chevy blazer and k5 blazer were rip offs of the ford bronco II/ explorer, and ford bronco.
but i must say that the styling is alittle more directly plagerized than usual. anyway, like i always say, i seriously wish gm best of luck. like it or not, america needs gm and ford to turn it around.
KarysTC 04-12-2007, 02:46 PM They do look very similar. The thing I hate the most is all car companies seem to be coming out with copies of all the other new cars. From a distance I always think a Saturn Ion, new Nissan altima, etc is a scion - except our roof is all glass where they have color. One could argue that the Xb copied the element to some extent. A car can only have so many shapes and with so many companies out there - you are bound to have a lot of look-a-like cars manufactured by different companies.
I got the Scion because I knew not a lot of people would have it (everyone has a black civic here and it's annoying) - but it does make me upset that a lot of other companies are making similar cars.

Here is a link to the HONDA BUS ... Hmm, yea that doesn't look at all like an Xb.
Swordsman 05-02-2007, 08:28 PM I'm gonna go out on a limb here and defend the Bowtie. The Purple one looks just like a squished HHR; the fact that it becomes the overall shape of an xB, well... a box is a box is a box. The orange one could be modeled after any of their umpteen thousand SUV designs. And the green one... if that's modeled after the Yaris, then they one-upped Toyota there. The Yaris could never, ever look that sporty.
Just because they're small doesn't mean they're Scion/Toyota knock offs. If that was the case, we could accuse Scion/Toyota of copying any number of dinky vehicles that have been running around overseas for years, because all small cars have the same basic shapes.
I LOVE all the oversized headlights and grills.... I always wanted to drive one of those cool Matchbox cars!

INFINI 05-02-2007, 09:29 PM I agree but just cause they are small does not mean they have to look like the Yaris/xB :) and be Scion/Toyota knock offs! hehe
Also I am not sure if you have seen a suped up Yaris or not but they look pretty cool (for a Yaris that is)
scionofPCFL 05-03-2007, 09:05 PM Just because they're small doesn't mean they're Scion/Toyota knock offs.
True, but without the success of Scion, those concepts do not exist.
I saw these at the car show here in the city. One of the babes, also on display, said the green one had a 1.3 liter turbo and tight suspension and for its size, that would be good. Now granted this is a concept car which usually looks nothing like the later production car but I have to say the green one looked good. But unfortunately it will be a GM product regardless of where they make it. And it is a shame but american car companies do not build cars on par with honda, toyota or even mazda. You can vote for one of them here if you so choose.

OldYeller 05-05-2007, 08:14 PM The Groove by a landslide! Got to love the "upright" windshield---LOL
ericsscion 05-06-2007, 08:43 PM I saw these car at the NY auto show and let me tell you they look great in person. I really like the green one and if for some oddball reason it gets relesed as is i would buy it. Considering the fact that I am anti-GM, that says alot. Hopefully all the car companies can get their act together and we can some more options.

I concur with your statement, as to being so bi est my self with many automakers, and the manufacturing style a company may have. I just really find it ironic that an American car company is pushing and developing automobiles in 3rd world countries. I mean no pun intended for Mexicans or Brazilians, but studies have been conducted with level of workmanship in 3rd world countries, as it being to our own home land here in United States. I am sorry if that sounds shallow, or such an "American Cocky" attitude towards our work vs. another countries, but my point is that if the American car companies want to compete with foreign automakers, then PLEASE tell the BIG CEO's who take advantage of these tax cuts, and grants that are handed out by the government to contribute more to the company instead of there 70 year vice chair/board who has an expensive hobby buying Yachts and re-invest that money back into the company. Maybe if we stopped this bill that Clinton passed a while back for "free trade agreements" then maybe we can finally put back our good ol' boys back to work, save our country from becoming a large "service industry", and have our people stimulate our economy even more...
Any ways.... sorry about that, just I vent everyday for policy's to be implemented, as my self being a PC campus action liberal my self... I just care allot about this country!
So basically it goes like this... let the American companies get back to reality, and maybe we can buy an American car for once, and most likely help our economy for the long run!!!
Mike
OldYeller 05-26-2007, 04:01 AM When I was your age, anything made in Japan was inferior. The first Honda cars were laughed at. Now American cars are laughed at--by quite a few on this forum. If Toyota keeps building bigger cars and GM makes some nice looking small ones--well the tables can turn again..........
INFINI 05-26-2007, 04:09 AM I would hope so !! I used to Sell Fords and Was so happy to see the changes in there profile from 93 + but the only ford I would even touch now is the Mustang GT.
I had a 2003 expedition before my xA :) and I had a really nice vintage 1982? Buick Regal Sport Coup Turbo (before the Grand National).
Even though they are both really big cars and I LOVED THEM :( I would not want to go back.

I seriously doubt you'll see that diesel in the US.
