Default Just picked up a Header!

So I just picked up a new Dc header for 210 shipped to my house! (good ebay find)
Just wondering how much did you guys pay for an exhaust gasket from the dealership? Advanced can get a Fel-Pro for like $17 but is more of old school looking gasket like briggs head gasket material. Looking forward to the power and defiantly not looking forward to rasp. I'm going to pick up some antifoulers this morning. I was also wondering since my car is an 07 is the mid pipe any differrent than an 05-06 cuz i noticed i have what looks like another small cat and a large resonator already in place just curious to how bad the rasp will really be?

you can get an oem header gasket from zpi, but they charge 29.99 for it, and you got to get s&h too.

rasp is usually caused by aftermarket exhaust, not your stock mid-pipe. you could try to take your car and have it fitted with an 18 inch resonator to reduce the rasp.

but sorry, i don't know if the mid-pipe is any different.

I will most likely get a resonator but i was mostly wondering why the huge stock resonator doesn't take care of all the rasp

silentkill: from what i've heard, it is the combination of after market headers and exhaust that cause the rasp. so i don't think the s-pipe will affect the sound too much because the stock s-pipe doesn't do anything to absorb sound either.

also, i don't know if the stock mid-pipe has a resonator or just a cat, which you might think is a resonator.

My mid pipe has both it has a small secondary cat first then a huge resonator after that. Thats why i was asking if the 07 mid pipe is different than the 05-06.

no idea, but i'm predicting bad cause that always seems to be the case when you combine any aftermarket headers with exhaust.

anyway, i mean, seriously, it is a cheap thing to replace. do it when you install the headers. it is always cheaper to use quality parts than it is to repair problems later because you were to cheap to do it right the first time.

just look at that buy with the incinerated turbo xa, rather than using 390 injectors for his xa, he retrofited acura tsx injectors, had a gas leak and his car burst into flames. moral of the story, ALWAYS GET THE RIGHT PARTS!
