Default 07 TC Intake Problem - Please help if you have info on 07 TC

I installed a cold air intake on my TC and got the check engine light when I started my car. So I tried doing an EFI reset by pulling the fuse for a few mintues, put it back in, which did nothing.

So then I tried disconnecting the negative battery cable, and the check engine light was off when I started the car, so I let the car sit for about 5 to 10 minutes, and started driving it after letting it sit.

But this is where my problem comes into place, the check engine light comes back on within 20 minutes to an hour while I'm driving. So I tried doing the battery reset the next day but I had the same exact problem with the check engine light coming on again. I guess the ECU on the 2007 TC is a little different than the 05 & 06 from what I understand.

Please help if you know whats up though.

did you move the grounding point in the wheel well? and if you did, did you sand/grind away the paint where the new ground is so that it's touching metal?

the grounding point should really have nothing to do with the CEL. When you have to relocate the ground wire, it is actually for the headlight.

Well I've already checked the sensor and it looks like its fine. I didnt install an intake for the correct year tho so maybe if I tried putting one on made for the 07 then it would b fine. I have an intake for the 07 on its way in the mail.

if u put an intake for an older year on, you've probably just stated your problem. try the correct intake made for the 07. btw u still may have messed up ur maf.

maf sensor. make sure your intake is an '07 intake, they changed the MAF mounting pattern for '07.

so if I did mess up the maf I wonder if it would be covered through warranty, or how much it costs if I need to replace it.

Put a the right intake on and are if your problem goes away. If it does, then you're good. If not, then you'd just be totally f'ed.

What kind of intake?

Check to make sure it is the right year intake for your car. If it is and you are still throwing the CEL, put your stock intake back on 100% and bring it in and act like you have no idea what an aftermarket intake is.

you shouldn't have even been able to fit the '07 MAF into the older intakes... well.. it'll go in.. but won't stay in...

sound more like an installation issue if it wasn't becuase of that.. check for leaks.. check for loose connections.

if none of those work.... you're screwed.

its about $600 for a new maf. if you put the stock intake back in and keep your mouth shut then warranty will probably cover it. custom rigging intake for you
now go take care of your tc and in the future buy her parts made only for her year.

wha?!?! Here's a good saying, and I think it fits this situation: "If it doesn't fit right, it's the wrong one."

LOL yeah I know the project is freakin' stupid all together. i already took it off and put the stock intake back on. Now I am going to wait to get the right intake for the 07.
