I'm going to put one on my car... I'm just wondering if anyone with a magnaflow cat-back gets exhaust popping / burbling when they lift... when they shirt of on decel....

I love that sound... and hope I'll get it with this setup...

Anyone?

There's an exhaust thread on here somewhere with sound clips...I believe the Magnaflow is on there. My DC sports "burbbles" and I LOVE it too.

 

it should have said.. LIFT OFF, ON DECEL...

are you going for the ultra rice sound? mine only does it slightly and not that noticable, hopefully you dont mean that you want it to sound like those honda's you can hear for eight blocks away

 

There is a difference between burping/gurgling sounds, and ricer buzzing. I love my magna on my box, smooth deep sound, with no buzzing or hi-pitched noise.

 

ive dont think ive ever heard one, but i just hope he doesnt want that ricy sound

 

burbling and popping when not accel'ing is what a performance car sounds like.

Nothing ricey... go to the track. listen when they shift slowly or are coming intot he pits... burble, burble, pop, pop, pop. :D


Anyhow... other car's that I've modded have done this... and it's the coolest.

Yeah, it makes the xB sound like a powerful 4 banger(even though we know otherwise ). not muscle carish, or ricer.

 

i think he means when the clutch is disengaged and you are shifting to the next gear, the rough burble pops while the RPM is dropping. like the Dodge Neon SRT-4. I don't think you can get as close as SRT-4 because they're just made different. On top of that, we have a 1500cc engine smaller than some crotch rockets. And our engine runs too smoothly, you'll have to rough it up.

 

it's hard to do with a 1.5

 

SRT-4 has no muffler at all!

YES! it does, ill get a clip by tomorrow to show ya, its only in high rev shifting tho. I LOVE MY magnaflow, its sooooo nice, i mean its the best thing ive done to my car.

 

Oh, and nothing can beat the subie gurgle.

 

Yeah, that is something we can't have. They sound like that because they are boxer 4s
