So I recieved the FFF from Orataro today...with a crack up the center. So if any of you experts out there can explain what material I would use to fix this crack, or maybe if i am really lucky someone can reckomend a good shop in central PA that can fix it.

I had the same thing happen to me. I took it to a local auto shop and I believe he used some type of epoxy or something like that to fix it. Its not perfect but isn't that noticeable.

 

did it cost you much?

 

Unfortunetly, it did run me about an additional $275, but I imagine that price would vary from shop to shop. Im sure you could shop around and find a better price. I just took it to the guy that I take everything to, so thats what I chose to pay.

 

$275 for what: fix crack, paint, and install? or just fix the crack?

 

Ohh... my bad. It was for repairing the FFF from being broken completely in half and the paint. So for just the repair it may have been like $150 or a little more.

 

ok thats already more than I can afford. anyone know of anything i can use for a diy project.

 

From what my guy told me, it was really difficult to get the piece to stay straight when they were trying to repair it. Maybe someone else who has had one repaired will chime in.

Ron sent me an email recomending Marglass. Does anyone have any experience with this stuff?

 

Mar glass is great stuff for making repairs easily and quickly. Just get some sandpaper and sand down into the crack on both sides then apply the mar glass filler to each side to fill in the areas let dry and sand smooth.

 

Was it not shipped mounted to a piece of wood or something for support? Why not send back for new one? You being reimbursed for the repair?

 

no man it was packed real well but a piece of wood would have made it a little sturdier. I finally got around to fixing it. I just went with OG fiberglass. It turned out OK for a noob.
