View Full Version : Get wheel package or stay with factory 17's????
BoostedSupra 09-05-2004, 08:34 PM Hey guys I am going to order my Tc tommorow, I was wondering if I should get the 18'' wheel package or stay with the factory 17's, it would be nice to add rims to a payment rather than getting the car and then going to get rims and have to pay up front for them, I was wondering if anyone had pics of their cars with the factory 18's because I have never seen them....

xboxPS2 09-05-2004, 08:43 PM hey april...i suggest going to Younger Scion and talking to a guy named Tavis...good guy, very informative.....he can help you out with choosing rims and ordering your tC

BoostedSupra 09-05-2004, 08:47 PM Yea thats where I am getting it, I know 2 guys there, I know Jason and the guy I am ordering it from is Mark Duvall, do you know him?

BoostedSupra 09-05-2004, 09:05 PM Damn sounds like fun, why didnt I get a Scion when that happened!!!! LOL.....I just need a car hopefully this week, since I can start driving again starting tommorow the doctor said, I am so happy
Max2k 09-05-2004, 09:27 PM If you buy rims at the dealer you'll pay a lot more than you would pay normally. Add that to the interest you'll be paying on them and you have a bad deal for you and a good deal for the dealer.
As a general rule, it makes better financial sense not to buy things from the dealer.
chucksu 09-05-2004, 09:37 PM How much does this 18" Wheel package cost?
BoostedSupra 09-05-2004, 09:53 PM $1565 for the package.....not bad for 18's with tires, my friend in Teckademics can get rims at cost...I might get them from him
chucksu 09-05-2004, 09:56 PM Yeah that is a good deal on wheels then. I was thinking it was near $2k
chucksu 09-05-2004, 10:08 PM Depending on your taste of wheels. I think these might look good on some colors of the tC:
http://www.edgeracing.com/images/wheel/5zigen_fn01r-c_(hyperblack)_front_zoom.jpg
You could get them from www.edgeracing.com for $185 each. So Thats $740 for wheels then get some Falken Ziex Ze-512 225/40WR18 Tires for $108 each. So thats $432 for a total of $1172. The Wheel weighs 18Lbs & the tire is about 22. So thats a total weight of 40Lbs. Im not sure what the stock weight is but I would think its more then that.
BoostedSupra 09-05-2004, 10:35 PM The style I like is the Konig Tantrum, its a 7 spoke rim, I wanted pics of the factory 18's on an actual car so I could see what they look like, I dont even know what color they are, if I get the Flint Mica, I will probably get gunmetal wheels with a polished lip
PolarScionXB 09-06-2004, 01:43 AM What does this have to do with the photo booth section. I see no pic's of anyones car. Maybe it's just me but there is probably another section you can ask general questions. When I click on the Photo booth section like it says place to post pictures I would like to see peolpe's rides. Just my 2 cents
KevinxB 09-06-2004, 02:37 AM She asked in her first post for pics of people's cars with the factory 18s.
Soon2BxB 09-06-2004, 02:50 AM id say get the 17s ... sell em ... and then take that plus a few bucks and get some 18's
why let the dealer
A) charge you WAY too much for the 18s
B) keep your stock 17s
piercedlip81 09-06-2004, 03:17 AM stick with the stocks, then get some wheels on your own, cheaper, not the same ones everybodys gonna have on their tc :)
