Default My kids live better than I do... at least TV-wise.

Freshly installed (haven't even taken the protective sheet off of the screens yet...

They're rocking the 9.5" with built in IR for the headphones, and I have the lowly 7".

Thank god for dual-zone.

I did the install, about 90 minutes from start to finish.

And yeah, they look pretty big when you're in the backseat. But I only sit about 2 feet away from my 20" computer monitor, so it's not like they're overwhelming.

Kinda off topic, but is it just me or is that a really long shiftknob (like the kind on rally cars)?

Is that Spongebob I see ?

There are threads about his shifter somewhere. He prefers not to reach that far to shift :D But if you want to buy one helluva short shift kit... he is the man to talk to.

Nice screens man!

It's bent 2" to the left, cage raised 1.25", throw reduced by 75% at stock height, then the shaft is lengthened 4", with a 4" shift ****, for a total height increase of 8". At that height, throws are 30% shorter than stock. It's not there too look at, it's there to do a job-- in 5th gear, the shift handle is less than 8 inches from the steering wheel.

Yeah, that's kinda what I was going for. I've tried about a dozen different **** styles, and with that big of a height addition on the shifter, the **** needs to be more like a handle to actually be comfortable.

That's pretty awesome, both screen-wise and shifter-wise. That is pretty hardcore too. Any true racing driver will tell you that the quickest shifter setup would be a short shifter with large height, to where you don't have to even reach down.

I've just never seen that setup in a tC so it was a little shocking at first

And are the boots alcantra/suede?

Yessir, black alcantara from RedlineGoods--love 'em. I have the console cover too, and it may be the best piece of all.

The shifter in neutral is almost even with the plane of the steering wheel (as it should be). In 1-3-5 it's just in front of the wheel, and in 2-4, it's just behind.

If my face were even with the center of the steering wheel... well, I'd be my 3 year old son.

Wow.. some people dont grasp much.

That shifter isnt my cup o tea, but with his shift throw and the placement he can outshift anyone with a standard short shifter. Its pretty common sense to include the reach from the wheel to the shifter as PART of your shift. Unless you drive one handed all the time with your hand resting on the shifter, in which case you should learn to drive (Especially if you do ANY hard driving). So he reaches less than half the distance and shifts just as short or shorter than the other shifters out there.

But of course it doesnt "look cool" so it must not function right?

I guess you should have bought a body kit instead doc, then people over here would think it made a performance improvement
