View Full Version : Correct Endlink Set Found!-Check Last Post!
wesley_t 09-06-2004, 07:25 AM I was wondering if anybody knows the correct size endlinks I can buy for my XB with Hotchkis sways. If not does anyone have the ability to measure their stock non modified endlinks?
Here is the link for Energy Suspension:http://www.energysuspension.com/pages/endl.html
Look at the bottom of the page under Performance End Link Complete Sets. I believe you have to measure the space ( A length) like the illustration to figute out the correct size.
I would like to replace the endlinks soon because I get a funny sounds when I run over the speed bumps in my apartment complex with the ones I have now.
kdanie 09-07-2004, 02:44 PM I'm pretty sure the xA and xB use the same length. I installed urethane end links but had to modify them to make them correct. I used a 1" sleeve but shortend the urethane bushings to .400" (not counting the locating ridge).
www.e21motorsports.com/kendanielson go to the bottom of the xA page to see what they look like.

hongs66 09-07-2004, 02:54 PM I did this same mod. Only difference is I didn't cut the urathane. I simply cut the sleeve to give me the correct distance. The energy part is the shortest one they make.

So if I understand you correctly the (A length on the web link) is 1" for an XA and probably the XB too :?:
kdanie 09-07-2004, 10:19 PM Yes, I used 1" but I shortened the inner urethane parts to so I would go .75" or so on the "A" dimension.
like their website shows, the bar and control arms should be parallel, adjust your dimension to fit.
You need to have the front end on ramps-not jackstands- to install these otherwise your suspension will be in full sag making installation difficult if not impossible.

Thanks for the info!
wesley_t 09-12-2005, 08:34 AM I finally got the correct end links installed thanks to Gabe from Scion Central!
This is the parts list you will need for an XB.
Two Grade 8, 3/8 x 4" bolts-I got mine from Orchard Supply Hardware but these should be available at any good hardware store.
Energy Suspension part# 9.8122 red or black urethane your choice!-I got mine from Gotelli Speed Shop in SSF, also available at better car part stores.
The 5" bolts on the Energy Suspension kit are too long so that is why you need the 4" bolts.
You will also need to cut the middle spacer from 1" to a 1/2" so that you don't have to cut any of the urethane bushings. Thats all the changes you have to do to have urethane bushings on your box!
If you need more technical help go see Gabe at www.precisionmuffler.com since he did the actual installation.

ashorn 09-21-2005, 11:51 AM Did anyone replace the Swaybar bushings also. Would like to know the part numbers.
The Endbar Bushings look easy, are the Swaybar Bushings split or do you have to slide them on from the ends ?
Would like to do the conversion on my XB
Thanks in advance

My swaybar bushings came with my Hotchkis sway bars but I think you can buy them from Energy Suspension at http://energysuspension.com/pages/swaybbct.html
I don't know the correct part number but you could always call or email them. They didn't know which endlinks I needed so good luck!
Thats one of the reasons why it took me so long to figure out but luckily Gabe knew once he had the Xb up on the lift. :relief:
Thanks again Gabe, the Xb really corners like its on rails!
