I was wondering when Scion will update the site so we can atleast build what we want and know our price. I am first on the list at the dealership that I am dealing with and I dont want to have to wait until after I get it to have them have to send it back to port just to install certain stuff. Does anyone have a clue when they might update the site? :ponder:

Not sure about the website, but my dealer said that he can generally begin ordering cars about 3 weeks before release, so I am gonna call him starting the 22nd.

I would have thought they would release the "Build Scion" updates after they released the accessory pricing.

I personally have no idea, but if I had to guess I would say that the web site will be updated around the first of next month. By that time, the first dealers should start to recieve them.

I already put a deposit on one at my dealer. They didn't know the price of any accessories, so I just told them to give me the thing stock and I'll add stuff later. If you want one soon, you may want to go ahead and talk to your dealer. It sounds like they will be very limited the first few months.

Finally the last phase until I get mine. :D This puts the icing on my cake now I wont have to worry about any more of the Run Around of not knowing what the hell is going on and when I am going to get one which will be a little later then what I thought from that last thread on this forum.

Someone in another thread quoted a Scion official as saying the MPG would be announced on the 25th. I heard on another board that Edmunds should be announcing the "full specs" today...but not sure if that is true/how to find out.

My money is on the whole thing being a hybrid that gets 9876 MPG in the city and 11.2 on the highway, then they'll launch that info the day they launch the car with 100000000 to sell so i make lots and lots of money

In all fairness, I thought the guy was off-base on the gen 1 xB. He makes it sound like a terrible vehicle.
With height and width measurements that were nearly identical, the old xB upended so many basic car-design conventions that it became something of a curiosity — a toy. It was adorable to some; silly to others.

Less like a toolbox on coasters and more like, you know, a real car.

As posted in the other thread, the 2006 xb with a manual gets 26/30 in the 2008 tests, so expect about 3 mpg less in real-world mixed driving. Stop-and-go city driving could be as diff as 5 mpg depending on severity. Seems like a great tradeoff for way more power and space.

It is illegal to advertise a mileage figure other than the EPA rated mileage. Since the 2008 xB is a 2008, it MUST be tested under the 2008 standards.

The mileage difference comes from a different tune, (new engine is tuned to be optimal in the 2008 tests because they knew that is how it would be tested) and also from the electric power steering. EPS offers a noticeable mileage improvement because it is much more efficient than the traditional hydraulic systems.

My mothers xB has arrived in California, as soon as its loaded on the train, we will get the VIN.

Dealership is going to install the stereo themsevles to avoid a port delay. The only modification my mother is getting is 3m clear bra installed on the front end and mirrors.

I noticed in the specs it still does not list behind the seat cargo capacity. Anybody see it?

When I tried the site yesterday morning, front page showed the 06, but 08 picture was on the build-one section. Showed it to my wife and she was like "WTH?"
She was really PO'd cause she wanted to see the options for the 08, so she could get hers built the way she wants it.

After looking at the site, all I can see a need for is for someone like her where you can choose ALL of the options with just one click. :rofl:

At least now I know why "viewpoint" software was spewed onto our machines yesterday as the new version of the site needs it to work. Why Scion / Toyota went with that makes you wonder, its not exactly the market-standard of media software.

I noticed the whole 15" wheel covers along with the C-Pillar Storage. When I clicked it, the Cargo Tote came up. Can't wait for the other accessories to show!

sorry, I have been stupid busy with Alex's all scion show, new xB, planning a trip to destin fl, working my tail off . . . they are sitting right next to me and I still have you address!
