ok guys, I am eather gonna buy a scion xB or tC. if i go with the xB i want to do the whole 9 yards. but i am not gonna really race or show much. might do some scion runs or whatever but not mainly for that, just for my likes. heres what i want to know, are the TRD shocks worth getting? i looked at the aftermarket ones but they are like 850. thats like 500 more bucks than the trd ones, i want to know if they are worth the extra cash or should i just go with the trd ones?

Edit: ok i just found a kit, springs and all for around my price range, what do you all think? and are they good lowering springs too?

 From what I have heard most people seem to say if you can buy a coil over set get it. It would be a little lighter then a stock set up & offer more options from height to dampening (Depending on the kit.) So if you can afford those bad boys I would think its a good deal but might want to get some other ppls views on this. Also do you think you will do some Auto-X or drive it hard? If its just a daily driver I dont know about spending that kind of cash for something you will not take full use of.

well, i would go to some scion events, and maybe even track race some times, but this is also my only car, so its both my fun car and my commuter car. Anyway i want it too cuz i want it to be a fun to drive car, i want it to handle great and all. I am not planning on putting alot of money into it, just some stuff to make the ride better, then proally end it there, or with a few slight bodt mods, like a lip kit and a grill. but thats pretty much it. i figured it was a good price for what i would be doing with it, its about the same price as the TRD kit, maybe a lil more but thats fine by me. anyway thanks for your opinion.

IMO, I'd just get lowering springs...from what I've heard they go a long way in improving your ride and handling. Relatively cheap, about $150-200 compared to coil-overs which are around a thousand. They're not worth the money IMO.

its funny you said that, i was out at a scion/toyota delearship with the lowering springs and stock shocks, it looked fine to me, so i am gonna do after market springs and trd shocks. thanks for the opinions all!

I have read on another post that if you get aftermarket springs with stock shocks, they will not last for more than 15,000-20,000 miles  . I really hope that is not true, but if it is, then it is worth getting the whole set up..
