Default i need help

ok i own an 05 tc i have a tsudo fireball axleback exhaust and i just added a strupp header but i still have the stock s-pipe and midpip. After installing the header at about 3000rpms i get this raspy sound but it goes away after i get past 3000rpms but everyonce in awhile you can still hear it but faintly so my question is what do i need to do to get ride of the raspy sound, i read on here someone said to take it to an exhaust /muffler shop and they can do it or should i just get rid of the exhaust and start over with all new aftermarket s and mid pipes and get a name brand exhaust and get a full exhaust setup. so if anyone can help i will be thankful on yeah it sucks a$$ and makes that raspy sound when i rev it up a little bit to show off lol. thanks if anyone can help.

exhaust system laws vary from state to state so you may be fine. right now the difficult states are california, virginia, and some clean air states.

to get rid of rasp, you will need an 18 in resonator welded into place on your mid pipe.

welcome to the world of aftermarket exhausts on a 4 banger!! you can get a resonator, that will def. help... i'm not familiar with the tc exhaust at all so don't know what will fit, but i put a vibrant 12" on my car and it helped tons... made a huge difference... it was like 50 dollars

order your after market pipes, take them to a shop before you have them installed and have them weld a resonator on it, maybe even a high flow cat if you have emissions to worry about.

no emissions in the state of washington. so now another question what is a good brand of pipes should i get or would it be cheaper to just go to a muffler shop and have them make me a custom set??

well, for whatever reason, people swear by the megan mid-pipe, i myself have a zpi racing mid-pipe, but am yet to put it on yet.

i dont know how expesive it is to get a long 2.5 in mandrel bent exhaust pipe made to fit your car, but it shouldn't be too bad. call around i suppose.

custom made exhaust will be cheaper than going with a production aftermarket one... make sure that the use mandrel bends, and use stainless tubing... the only downside to a custom exhaust is you don't really know how it's going to sound untill it's on... if you don't like the way it sounds, you're kinda stuck with it.

i don't have experience with the megan, but even on my cobalt site everyone says that it's the best sounding exhaust they've heard... and it seems to be much cheaper than most of the others.
