For those of you who have also bought an '05 tC and couldn't get the ipod auxiliary port and you bought one of those "direct connect" ipod harnesses and thought you could see the text through your head unit, but it ended up showing just track numbers and nothing else, well i was messing around with mine (bought from metraonline.com/ wiretunes) and i ended up doing something where i can control the ipod directly so i can actually see the song i'm choosing. Just wondering if people had the same problem as me, otherwise if anybody wants to know I will post it a DIY. it's kinda ghetto, but it works!

So this is exactly what i have (it's vehicle specific) well at least the harness part is, anyways that plug that connects your ipod to that box is what you'll have to put a peice of tape on, when i get home i'll post up pics of what i did.

Well it's that product from metraonline.com if you go to their website and look at it you'll know what i'm talking about. It's one of those things that act as a cd changer. well anyways you can find them cheap on ebay. basically it all ended up putting a peice of tape on the harness part (that connects to the ipod) so that it will read your ipod, charge it, but will give you full direct access to the ipod instead of your head unit...this would be if you already have it because i know they are kind of expensive and you can just get those other ones one ebay or something that will already let you control it..so yeah cus i already had one and i didn't wanna buy another..so it's kind of a fix

 

yeah its pretty expensive. ipod 2 car would've worked

 

hm when i get home later i'll post up pictures of what i'm talking about, but it's mainly for people who already have this "wiretunes" ipod connector thing. I know you can get it really dirt cheap because people on ebay who sell them don't think that you can control your ipod directly. i'll post them later.
