Default to those with SpeedSource Motormounts...

Im thinking about purchasing them but someone told me that it will make a drastic sound. can anyone who has the mounts confirm this? Does it sound like the engine damper?

You will get more vibration and noise at idle and take off but once you are moving you really can't notice them. They don't make near as much noise as the ETD on a cold day.
This is one of the best performance modifications I have made.

The front was pretty easy to install. You'll want a deep socket set or 3" extension though. The toughest part is putting the damn plastic trays back together! I still haven't taken the time to put in the rear mount, due to it looking seriously difficult to reach.

As far as sound, they make almost no noise. Even my GF noticed how much more quiet it was compared with the WR damper. The vibration at idle is quite intense, and can make parts like the radio door rattle. Once you're over 1200 rpms or so, the vibration goes away.

Yup its an excellent mod.....no more wheel hop....no more herky jerky coasting in 1st....taking off from a dead stop at a light is 10x better.....but as a trade off you will get vibration at idle....its annoying at times but other times with radio up not bad. And with AC off there is rarely any vibration!! Never had ETD but i have heard that its less noise with these mounts....personally i love em and dont mind the vibrations because once you punch it your gone and so is the vibrations....

Install....front - peice of cake
Rear - Pain in the a$$

HERES another option that i just found out about

http://www.zeropointindustries.net/s...roducts_id=341

Not sure how it is but could be good!!!

Hi guys -

Glad there has been a good amount of feedback on the mounts Personally - I think the vibrations are pretty minimal, but that is my opinion and everybody is going to feel a bit different about that. A lot of it comes down to personal preference and what kind of cars and modifications you have done in the past...

I think of it this way - Asking how mounts feels is sort of like asking "how loud is that exhaust?" It is a very difficult thing to answer. If you have driven cars with straight pipes or open exhaust before, a particular exhaust system might comparitively be EXTREMELY quiet to you - where as somebody else who has always driven stock muffler, stock cat and resonated exhausts might find the same exhaust annoying and TOO loud for DD comfort. That said - we have yet to hear resports of anybody breaking their back with our mounts, so the vibrations can't be that bad ;)

As far as installation goes - all I can say is there is no real "trick" to the rear mount. There is not really anything we can do to make installation easier, since Toyota pretty decided how easy it would be to get to the rear mount. It is by no means impossible - and you do not need a lift. We installed them on the first customer car with floor jacks in house.

Let me know if you guys have any other quesions! PM is the easiest way to reach me, but I troll the forums the best I can too.

Exactly! A guy around here just got a set and only put the front one in and I sat in the seat to fell it, felt nice, turned the a/c on and it got even rougher. He's like yeah see what I mean. I turn to him and say yeah, you just bought yourself cheapa$$ massaging chairs, what the hell are you complaining about :D Note: did not use exact phrasing but still, I like them, do you guys make them for the a/t, if so I'll have to pick up a set.

Speed Source used my car to test the mounts. I have had them for a long time now and really like them. I have gotten used to the vibrations and don't even notice them. My wife doesn't know I put them in and she's in my car all the time. She has never even noticed the vibrations at all (unless she's quietly enjoying them!)
I had the stiffy before and it was ok, but in cold weather it didn't work right.
