View Full Version : Thinking of Having an XBox tournament at Burien Scion.
scionkelly 04-21-2007, 04:10 AM Hello All. It's Kelly from Burien Toyota. I was thinking about having an xBox tournament on my 56" Plasma Tv on my showroom. Anyone interested in participating? Let me know what game we should do!

robbiej 04-21-2007, 04:31 AM Sounds like fun.
scionkelly 04-21-2007, 04:36 AM Should we do 1 single event time or run a 1st round during the first couple days, 2nd round later in the week, and then a finals. Everyone interested could stop in anytime during 9a-9pm and play the game and post there high score. then we could have playoffs based on that. What do you think?
scionkelly 04-21-2007, 04:41 AM or perhaps a running total over the summer. with a finals at the end of the summer?
kkawana 04-21-2007, 06:35 AM :ponder:....hmm... could be cool.... tho i'd get my but whoooped on... havent played xbox 360 or ps1/2 years..... give my computer based game and i may have a shot...lol

scionkelly 04-21-2007, 05:12 PM good talking with you too....
mocascion 04-21-2007, 05:36 PM Oh no you didn't Kelly...you mentioned my fav...
MARIO KART!!!
I'm up for this regardless of what format it is in. Are you looking to do Xbox only or maybe some of the new Nintendo or PS3 stuff as well?
What would be even more exciting is if there were 2 tournaments. One in Burien, which would cover the Seattle area, and one in the Portland area. The winners of both tournaments would than have a championship in a location. Just so that this can incorporate more than Burien area people :P.
scionkelly 04-21-2007, 06:03 PM I am open to which ever format the masses want. I can get a system here in any format. Lets do it. Lets have a Seattle vs Portland tournament. Maybe we get Kelly at Gladstone to host the Portland games. Give everyone 1 month to stop in and post there high scores . Then we narrow down to regional championships and then Seattle champ(s) take on Portland Champ(s)
scionkelly 04-21-2007, 06:20 PM I just need to know which system we should use. We need to get a list of people who want to be in it. I will have the system available 9a-9p here at my dealer for people to come in and practice if they want for say a week before tournaments begin. Once tournament starts, contestants will stop in and post high scores. I think top 4 scores will meet here for a finals. We should have top 2 compete against portland region.
How about have it like registration for each tournament(Assuming that Gladstone says Yes), than it'll be like a bracket type tournament instead of like high scores. If its High Scores than you could have someone have a totally lucky game or a totally horrible game.
scionkelly 04-21-2007, 07:15 PM Tournament style works with me. I have an email into gladstone to see if I can get them aboard.
sounds like a great Idea Wow Kelly good job, have fun with that one
MNScion 04-21-2007, 08:08 PM Hey Kelly!
I think this is a great idea! We did something similar in MN, and it was a blast! I would LOVE to get together and host the Portland contests, and then we could have a BIG GRAND CHAMPION PNW RULER OF THE WORLD event!!
Give me a call, or send me a PM, and we can work the details out...
scionkelly 04-24-2007, 08:21 PM Sounds like the 2 kelly's are doing this. I need to get a list of people in both areas that want to compete. Let's finalize a game. Thinking maybe a PS3 racing game?
kkawana 04-24-2007, 08:47 PM Dueling Kelly's.... <insert banjo music>
i'll try whatever game it is.... but soo out of practice on console games.... how about pong? pitfall? q-bert?? lmao
ohcanada_00 04-24-2007, 09:57 PM make it as compatable as possible so no one really has the uper hand. Some sort of racing game where you can get a time will most likely be best!
sounds like fun and I am looking forward to it!
I have the steering wheel and gas pedal combo's for the xbox if anyone wants to borrow them.
mocascion 04-24-2007, 10:23 PM Guitar Hero II. New racing games. Maybe Dance Dance Revolution for those of us Scion owners who need a workout
scionkelly 04-24-2007, 10:24 PM How about something that is just out that way everyone has a fair chance Perhaps:
Tokyo Xtreme Racer DRIFT returns to the PS2 for a second showing.
Release Date: Apr 24, 2007

mocascion 04-24-2007, 10:26 PM Sounds great to me!
scionkelly 04-24-2007, 10:27 PM I got it, we do Guitar Heros II for the musically inclined, and tokyo drift for the racers!
kkawana 04-24-2007, 10:39 PM Dance Dance revolution!!! hahaha
LOL now that is funny dance revolution......
What about something that no one is really expecting? Like a secret????? would that be fun?
hey what about seeing if we can maybe get some beta games for this. It is your deal kellie's but if you would like some help getting something no one has heard of it might be fun, and definatly make it equal.
MoScion 04-25-2007, 06:18 PM I have done a few of these types of events for my work... The first step should be to pick a game before anyone can decide on the format or how to run the tournament.
Or maybe take suggestions for game titles (see list below)and we all vote on a game. The key is we want to have fun and not get overwhelmed with the logistics.
Some suggestions I saw from posts above
Golden eye
super mario cart
Dance Dance Revolution
Guitar Heros II
Racing game
PS3 racing game
