Well... it's a Dodge... I'm not really into the Caliber. I saw an Avenger today, I kinda like the body lines, but I just don't trust the American cars.

What were your reasons for getting the Caliber? Not a fan of the interior, but the extra power and trunk space must be nice.

The REALLY station-wagony is the Dodge Magnum.

I have a theory that the Magnum wasn't really "designed" so much as spawned from an accident in the Durango factory: i.e. they accidentally dropped one Durango on top of another one, and decided they like dthe look of the bottom one.

the Caliber answers the question: what would a Pontiac Aztek look like if you dropped a Durango on top of it

Well, at least you're still in the family of stupid-looking cars. Good luck around 90,000 miles or so, though.

(I dont think anyone told him that b4 he bought it....any dodge that makes it past 50 thousand miles is usually lucky...at 90 thousand....well its the Mother teresa of cars....it doesnt run worth a poop, but it just wont die!)

^^ LOL, I was just coming back to this topic to change 90,000 to 60,000

I think any Dodge that makes it past 90,000 is either a) possessed, b) trying to kill you, or c) both a and b.

somebody should have told him about each car's first checkup:

5000 MILES:
Toyota: Get oil changed
Dodge: Trade in car

Sorry for your LOSS. What do you think we think of the Caliber? Answer: It's Chrysler American Crapola! Question?: Why did you feel the need to trade DOWN? Did you slip and fall and crack your head on the sidewalk? If so you might be able to claim you weren't in your right mind and get the deal reversed!

Seriously tho... The Calibers are built at the same plant in Belvedere, IL the Neons were built so guess what kind of quality they might have?

Hmmm..Trading a Toyota for a Dodge? The only thing I see is that it is new, but that means more money for plates and insurance. Not a fan of the style, But think about what people think of our little Boxes. If you like it,, that's all that matters...

Congratulations!

In defense of Dodge, my wife's Intrepid has over 150K miles on it. The only repair has been replacing an oxygen sensor

My parent's Ram is in the 100k mile club as well with no problems whatsoever.

If I didn't have such a long daily commute, I'd be driving an american car with a big nasty v8. I love me some Cadillac. But for now I need something cheap and good on mileage and the green machine meets those specs.

I actually think the Caliber is kinda cool looking. The advertized price (around 17k) doensn't seem too bad. Did you at least check out the 08 box before you pulled the trigger?

Theres something to be said for buying American, oh though don't the Germans own dodge now. I think they are trying to sell it too.

Either way happy motoring!

Congrats on the new car! Did you get the R/T? I test drove one before I bought my box. Tell us how it compares.

American cars are generally much more pleasing to the eye than Japanese ones. The Caliber is very cool looking.

Unfortunately, every test report I've read says it's a pile of crap under the skin.

But some people really do only care about appearances.

You could give me a Dodge product for nothing, and I would own it only as long as it took to sell it.
