I am graduating college and can finally remove the ugly parking sticker that I had to keep on the tC. I could use some advice on how to get it off, I don't want to leave ugly residue or do any damage. Here are 2 pictures:

Goo gone works pretty good.

On a warm day, get a blowdryer and heat the sticker really well.
Peel back a corner and hold it close to the surface as you peel back slowly.
Anything left can be taken off with kerosene.
I've done it tons of times on cars/bikes.

just take the sticker off. If it leaves residue then just buff it out with wax. If that doesn't work then time for a clay bar job.

wax is meant to protect the car not buff it... And a clay bar probably wont work well for this...

but you cant peel it off at all?? You have to find some way to peel it off and then once its off clean the residue off with some goo gone or buff it with some rubbing compound...

and is it possible to get a closer pic as those two pics are practically useless... An upclose pic might help show the texture and what it looks like.. But I think you should be able to get it off with a fingernail and the like I said use rubbing compounds to buff off the glue or small paper pieces...

Alright, i'll try a combination of what you guys recommend. I haven't touched it yet because I wanted some recommendations before I do something bad and then need help fixing it! Ill use the hairdrier and just try to carefully peel it off!

If you need/use rubbing or polishing compound you've fugged-up the job!
I've removed tons of stickers, and the only thing you should need to do after is wax.

Try what I posted.

I wouldnt stick a parking sticker those are Messy stickers to get off!...I just tape it to the window or something...

Just use a HairDryer and pull it off....

Alright I used a hairdryer to get it off and I basically pulled. that definitely did well, but there is some of the stickiness left on the car. I can also see the outline of where the sticker was! Would some white polish (rubbing compound) remove that? I waxed but that didnt do anything.

(I had to put this sticker on my car, I didn't have a choice. In fact, I had to wait on a long line and THEY put it on the car. we didnt even have a choice where to put it. You can imagine there were some UPSET people)

Use a polishing wax a few times.
If that doesn't work - it's likely built-up grunge around the edge of the sticker and nothing more - then use polishing compound with your fingers.
Scratch-X is good here.

You need to get off the goo with kerosene or another commercial product.
Haven't tested Goo Gone on auto paint, so be careful to test under the hood or some other place first.
Wax won't help until you get that ____e off.

Well after using white polish, scratch-x, wax, water, a hairdryer, and a mother load of elbow grease, I was able to get most of it off. It is now only noticable when really up close. I cant get it to come out in a picture. Thanks for the help guys. I am never letting anybody put another sticker on my car ever again!

My question is why the hell do they make you put a sticker on your bumper!? Most places give you a rear view mirror placard or a sticker for the windshield.

There have been problems with parking illegally and commuters not using the proper permits. So they cracked down and insisted that if we were to park there, we either have to have a "C" for commuter on our car or "R" for resident on the car. Don't ask me to explain any further b/c it is not the easiest thing to put your mind inside that of freaking idiots to understand their rationale.

I use goo gone to take my stickers off in combination with a hair dryer. It has always worked wonders for me.

I would've gone pouring hot water on it then peel it off. Not scalding hotness, just moderately hot water. Well anyways, nice job taking it off!

I don't recommend rubbing alcohol for paint.
I've seen it cloud clear-coat.
