I opened the center cubby today to get out some CD cases. The door dropped down a little more than 45 degrees. I thought, "Huh? Didn't this door used to open almost flat? Or am I hallucinating?"

The angled door is right. It does not open to flat. RPM Al-Truistic 09-09-2004, 12:24 AM Not a flat openning door. Yoshi 09-09-2004, 05:08 PM Speaking of the door...can anyone tell me how to get it out so I can get to the spring on the hinge? I'm worried if I force it I'll break to hinge arm, but the spring inside is bouncing off of something and rattling like mad. I want to put some felt down, but need to know how to get at it. Thanks! whtstht 09-09-2004, 05:48 PM Remove two knobs, then two screws. Pull off silver part of dash, then two screws on box. Comes out with the door attached. shoutforjoy 09-10-2004, 04:47 AM I just had my center console apart this week to paint it. I don't think there were screws on the compartment with the flip-down door. But you don't have to take it out to fix the springs, at any rate. |
