subwoofer questions...need help!
i have a black 2006 scion tC. i still have the OEM bazooka subwoofer installed in my trunk, and I've recently decided to upgrade. I know nothing what so ever about audio, or about cars in general, and I wanted some tips and assistance before I make this investment. Installation isn't a problem, because my local audio/video customization place is handling that.
What I do want to know is some good brands...is "Kicker" subwoofers a good sub? it's not dual, just single...I think it's 400 watts RMS. it sounded good to me, but then again, i dont really know anything about this stuff.
so then my next question is could you send me some forum pages/any images of scions with cool subwoofer setups? not anything extravagant, because im not willing or able to pay a huge sum of money. all in all i wanted to spend about 1,000 or less. the sub is 350, including enclosure, and the amp i looked at is an alpine and is about 250...install and all that is close to 200. so that leaves me with a couple hundred dollars for cool setups and enclosures. keep in mind that i'm not going to do any of this work what so ever, so everything will have to be done by a pro. please send some cool and unique ideas that are a wallet breaker! thanks
i also think i want just a single subwoofer, not a dual one, due to how little my trunk space is (the kicker i looked at was single)

my friend bought a 10 inch sub that was in a box and cam with an amp and the wiring for 150 from auto zone, yes it is one of those off brand things but it actually sounds damn good, he has the rs2. if your looking for pretty nice sound and not at all wanting something people are gonna be all like woooahhh over, then maybe something like that would work.
but if you want real good sound that is loud as hell and makes your car flex and all that then kicker is def. a good choice, plus IMO the square subwoofer looks awesome.
i have two 12 inch kenwood typhoon subs in a sealed box with a 980 watt kenwood amp and its pretty loud, not very deep though, i am going to get the kicker l7 subwoofer soon or maayybbe im hoping to be able to get a jl w7 but that prob wont happen.
