Honestly can't tell much difference.

I didn't like it initially, but it's growing on me.... like some exotic, uncharacteristically sporty fungus.

The one thing I really DON'T like is how square the back end is. Too much like the new xB (why offer 2 boxes?)... they needed to leave that more like the xA. The interior makes up for it though... it's a godsend compared to the fugly Yaris dash!

It looks better at the fender, but the ground clearance is still pretty significant. A kit would help immensely.

Low profile tires as well. The stock tires look like could go on a school bus. :silly:

Mmmm I jjust saw the new xb.... I'm just not use to the truck thing...I love the fact that scion listen to the owners for the xb. But mmmmm since the xa wasn't the winner they thought it would be...we end up deceased as of dec 06. Waiting for the xd now just to make sure before I jump ship and go mazda. Cx7.

I gotta tell you that you need to be sure you know what you are getting into if you are going for the Mazda CX7. This is a fairly typical post from a CX7 owner. Just do a search there are plenty of posts.
My CX-7 is almost a year old. AWD, fully loaded, got it June of 06.

My mileage had been 16-18mpg in a mix of city/highway driving.

I just got a gas cap replaced, and I guess the program was updated. I'm not sure what they did, but it seems to shift like butter.

After the service, my mileage has increased to maybe 18-20? On an all highway trip, I got 22.

I'm an extremely aggressive driver, and I don't use the manual shift, so I expect I could get another 1-2 out of it if my driving style were different.

And don't forget that it requires Premium gas.

I just went from a Mazda3 to a 2008 xB and I am very happy. In my time hanging out on Mazda forums the past two years I saw plenty of people upset at the mileage on the CX7. And that was at $2.50/ gallon.

I just felt compelled to point this out since I cannot imagine the gas station sticker shock of going from an xA to a CX7especially considering the Premium fuel requirement added on too. In my area you would be adding 17 cents per gallon and dropping around 12 mpg. Wow!

Take a look at the 08 EPA numbers
http://fueleconomy.gov/feg/findacar.htm

New EPA MPG
2006 Scion xA
Regular Gasoline
27City
30 Combined
34 Hwy

2007 Mazda CX-7 4WD
Premium Gasoline
16 City
18 Combined
22 Hwy

Hope this is helpful.

Found this pic on Flickr, under Jalopnik's collection. Quite obviously a REAL lowered version (no fender gap).
