|
|
Just got my 06 Nautical Blue about 5 months ago and I am seriously considering purchasing the TRD Supercharger. My question is, if I am running all stock except for maybe TRD exhaust and the supercharger what are my 0-60 and quarter times going to look like. What are your opinions on this setup? I want to go ALL TRD
Step 1: Suspension / Lowering Springs
Step 2: Supercharge it
Step 3: Haul butt
When I am done it will look like this:
Future Modifications
TRD Supercharger $2,950.00 :money:
TRD Struts & Shocks
TRD Lowering Springs
TRD Front and Rear Sway Bars
TRD Short Shifter
TRD Front Strut Tie Bar
TRD Radiator Cap
TRD Shift Light Kit
TRD Exhaust
Door Sill Enhancement
Carbon Fiber Engine Cover
Carbon Fiber B-Pillar
Carbon Fiber Hood
Auto Dimming Mirror
4 Piece Floor Mat Set
Sparco Aluminum Pedal set |

Hope you get an answer, i've been wondering this myself.
It's hard to get these times this time of year because of track closures and weather... |

I'm going to say the stick SC tC doesnt around a 6.8 0-60, and a 1320 of 14.7
of course, im not saying im right, these are just my projections. |

| I have a Beltronics Vector accelerometer. These are not 100% accurate but they seem to work pretty well. When my 05 tC was bone stock, I was consistently getting 0-60 in 7.5 and 1320 in 15.5 - 15.8. This is right on the money compared to magazine tests and what some scionlife members have recorded at the strip. I say this to validate the times I got w/ the supercharger. With the supercharger, my only other mods were springs, rear sway bar and 18" wheels w/ Parada Spec 2 tires. Nothing else that adds power. I recorded 0-60 times consistently between 6.3 and 6.5 seconds and 1320 times between 14.7 - 14.85 seconds. |

thank you, definitely sounds accurate. did you read that lame article on edmunds about our S/C and its bogus runs?
Anyway, those accelerometers are pretty good, not track good but thanks anyways. |

| Sounds like some pretty reasonable results to me. :ponder: Puts it up there in the RSX-S and WRX category kinda. A stock RSX-S is suposed to run down the 1320 in about 14.8 seconds. |

Yeah, 6.5 sounds reasonable for a TRD supercharged tC. Throw an NST supercharger pulley on it and you can probably shave that down a bit.
Good call on all the TRD parts. You will end up paying more for the stuff on your car than some people, but you will have a car with most of the components from one great company. |

That was going to me my guess 0-60 mid 6's |

No problem. I can't wait to try out my 06 w/ a few more mods :lalala: . I thoght the Edmunds article was dumb. The car isn't that bad to launch, it just takes a few practice runs :loser: . |

if you go to "insideline.com" there is a video on the 06 tC with supercharger. looks pretty cool. i believe they clocked it at 7.2 sec 0-60 and 15.2 on the quarter.
just go to insideline.com and "photo and pics", then search for the scion tC. |

That's pathetic, there slightly modded NA tC's doing those numbers. I think someone from Consumer Reports was driving. Ever see what they got out of a stock tC and Cobalt SS  . They need to learn how to drive. |

cars that run mid-high 14's have a certain "feel" to them; and I'd say with some confidence that my wife's tc ( sc w/ trd exhaust as only other "mod" ) has that same feel. Same can be said for something that hits lo-mid 6's to 60. And for now we're happy with that. Once TRD wakes up and ( hopefully ) offers some of the same add-ons that others have out there ( pulleys, etc ) then we'll be doing even more to it. But after all, ours will be driven only on the road, so all we can do is make those on ramp blasts or stop light hits a bit more on the fun scale.
Thanks to you guys out there posting these numbers, it's nice to read what the 'std' sc models can do. And for some of those rags/mags that have such slow performance numbers on a test car--i think my daughter can drive a stick better then those writers.... |

Road and Track magazine just released a "Sports and GT Cars 2006" edition, in which they tested a supercharged tC. They clocked 0-60 at 6.9 and the 1/4 mile in 15.1, both representing a 0.5 second inprovement over their test of a stock tC.
This conversation is great timing...my 06 tC is not home tonight...It's at the dealer where they are currently installing the TRD Supercharger! Can't wait to pick it up tomorrow! Then Thursday it's off to the shop to have leather and seat heaters installed... |

| a quick question....will the dealer install the blower if i bought it from sparks? im thinking ya, but they probably wont be as willing to give me a deal on the install. im thinking i probably shouldnt even open the box when i get it? as far as the magazine numbers, both of them didnt break 15's , thats no bueno. i would expect 3500 dollars to break into upper 14's easily. |

yes, the dealer will install the supercharger even if you buy it from TRD sparks. |

Outcrnru (I think thats his name), hit a 14.6 with a supercharger and only a couple other mods. |
