| well, even though the tC and camry share the same block, not all 2AZ-FE engine blocks are made the same. I would do some serious research just before trying to slap a tC kit on a Camry. |

| Well they only make a 5spd in the 4cylinder.... and i am still keeping my MAX....i just like 4door cars......... from my research they used the same engine casue camry had the engine before the TC.... and the Hp is the same....what else can be diff tranny gear ratio might be a little diff on the camry... and camry has more enginebay room because of the V6 |

| It's the same block, but the internals may differ. I know the bearings aren't the same. |

| maybe that is why camry is the no.1 car seller because its powerful and designed particularly to the older and more financially stable consumers.......even though they put all that power in the Scion it might not sell as much as the camry since Scion is designed for the younger drivers which most are broke like me.. :nails: ..hehehe....just my 2 cents. |

| I work at a toyota dealership, and the 2007 camry just came in. It's hot! But honestly if you want to dump serious money, don't dump it in a camry. Trade the thing in for a tC and dump money in that. |

| the camries and the tC's engine are two different engines. sure they have the same name, but gearing is completely different, and you will have some serious problems if you put a turbo on a camry that was made for a tC |

The engines are identical. You can use a 2003 on camry haynes manual for the tC also. The differences are in the tranny and the ECU.
But you can't put on bolt ons from a tC to a camry. Just because the dimensions are different in the engine bay and they won't fit to well without some fabrication.
The same power can be made though.
The tC is just a sportier 2 door on a 4 door platform. Weighs a lil less wich is why more people are interested in modifying the tC.
Anyway... you can make the same power and the same type of applications could be done on a camry. But the tC bolt on modifications just won't fit.
As for the tranny.. People have wanted to switch gear boxes from the camry to the tC. So i doubt that is a real issue with the car. |

some of the internals are different. ask ZPItuning, they have tore the tC motor down i believe, and ordered bearings for the camry 2az-fe, because the tC ones weren't available, and the bearings were different. |

| If you really like 4 doors and are wiling to dump 20k on a car plus money for mods, why not look for a subaru legacy 2.5gt? Much better platform to start with and it's more refined than the wrx. |
