|
|
I was searching Google for turbo\supercharger options for the auto and came across this site: http://www.turbochargers.com/store/product_info.php?manufacturers_id=10&products_id=130&osCsid=53cdb87d2512bd973dcec23a75918bf5
They state their turbo kit will work for an automatic. Now I realize I'm new to these boards and I did search some of this, but couldn't find anything more than people arguing theories.
Is there any logic to having a turbo on an automatic transmission? Given I had a supercharged SVT Lightning, I assume an automatic with the a roots style blower would really open up the TC, but I doubt one exists. My Lightning was sick power, but it was also a 5.4 liter V8.
Would a turbo on an auto TC be a waste of money and a cause of frustration and headaches down the line?

Coming from a Lightning to a N/A TC was not easy. I may consider a turbo soon, if the application doesn't assassinate the warranty. I don't think the TRD Supercharger would be worth the money, given the modest power gains in AT . I'd do it if I had the manual though.
Damn morning commute! :P |

Im with you Jake.....I came from a manual SRT4 to a Auto TC. Im loooking at the turbonetics auto kit. I wanted a manual but couldnt fit in it right since im so tall (6.4).
I got rid of mine since I had such a huge commute but with the raise I just got I dont think paying for the gas will bother me anymore. And screw warrenties! :) |

| ^^ I'm 6'3" with a manual... how would manual or auto be affected by your height? The clutch is just as accessible as the other pedals... |

| Hmm I tried to fit comfertably in a manual TC and It didnt work for me....I do have really long legs though. Even now with the auto with my seat all the way back my legs are a quarter of a inch from the dash and steering wheel. |

| the auto's are about to be in the game with the new things ZPI is developing all of you know how r/d is? but it's supposed to be out before this summer and you can bolt on the stage 1 from ZPI with their esk coming out. Just go to www.zpiracing.net and keep up to date they are awesome people i have never had problems from them they are like family to me when it comes to my tc. also there stage 1 produces better whp than the turbonetics and alot more torque. |
