While doing some research on water/alcohal injection, I came across this "do it yourself" page. Seems easy enough to do for a fraction of what you would pay for a kit (around 1K). It uses the windshield wiper fluid resivor, a pressure switch tied into the vaccum line, a small pump, and a spray nozzle.

Naturally this wouldn't be ideal for everyone running F/I, but if your trying to push it to the limit, this is a great way to keep engine temps down with the added benifit of a small octane boost. It is also said that it keeps cylinder walls cleaner as well.

its definitely not hard to come up with a complete system on your own, but theres a few things that are really important with water injection...it needs to be a failsafe setup, checkvalves are your friend. Its also nice to have a water pressure gauge inside the cabin, also if your smart about it, have 2 different maps one with water injection and one without. This way if any of your nozzles get clogged or you lose pressure you can simply switch maps and be able to drive home safely. Go look at the aquamist SS2D system, its real nice.
