Quote: Hey guys,
Well, after holding onto this car for over a year, I need to move on, and sell it to a good home that is either going to restore it or keep it in its original condition and maintain it from here on out. It is definitely one of the most original cars I have EVER seen in my entire life. I have collected and owned Toyotas for about 10 years now, and as many of you know me, I love these cars to death. But regardless of my desire to open my own classic Toyota museum, I have to sell this one in order to pay for college expenses as well as funds for my other projects as they have been neglected for too long. I did not transfer the title from the original owner, and it is signed, and ready to transfer. I even know where the original owner lives, although he is very old now. He bought the car brand new in 1967, and gave it to his wife to drive, but then she passed away in the late 1970's, so the miles never got put on her. The car sat for a few years outside, and then was garaged for many years. The guy took care of everything as the car sat, and always started it up. He drove it to the store sometimes to buy groceries. Other then that, he has been maintaining it, in memory of his beloved wife.
The good:
1967 Corona Deluxe (yes, this is the last year of the EARLY RT43 body style). 1968-71 is much different.
2 speed Toyoglide automatic transmission!!
62,000 original miles!!!
From what I understand, its the original paint.
Bias-ply tires sometime from the 1970's!
All original manual is included, along with the original license plates, the original TWO sets of keys, and the original Key band that was included with the keys back when the car was new.
No chassis cancer, and VERY little panel rust.
Engine runs smooth, clean, and oil drip free.
Transmission is in wonderful shape, shifts great and does not slip.
ORIGINAL WARRENTY CARD WITH ORIGINAL OWNERS NAME!!! (same name as on title)
Original spare tire, tools, etc.
All original hubcaps in wonderful shape.
There are many more good things about this car that I cannot remember off the top of my head, but once more things come up, I will post them up.
The old:
It has some rust on the fenders, but nothing a little metal work wont fix, otherwise you can find a better condition drive side fender.
The interior is.... well... old. - Dash is tired, so are the seats, door panels, etc... (BUT, its VERY complete)
Has the wonderful 1960's Toyota smell... ohh yumm!!
Drum breaks are a little sensitive in the front when they are cold, but warm them up for a few minutes and they start working just fine.
Carburetor needs its basic clean/seasonal adjustment.
One of the doughnuts on the exhaust manifold down pipe is starting to leak a little, so you get a little exhaust whisper sound under the hood.
Turn signal relay seems to be a little… delayed sometimes.. kinda like an old man.
That’s all I can remember for now, Look at the pics carefully, and see this cars true beauty within.
YOU MAY NEVER FIND ONE THIS CLEAN AGAIN!
