Quote: This is an ultra rare Toyota. Especially here in the States. I am told that there are only 68 cars of this model that were made in the left hand drive configuration. Most were used by American serviceman stationed in Okinowa during the sixties. Since the Okinowieners ( is that right? ) drive on the right hand side of the street, the cars for that market were all built LHD. Well anyway, thats what the previous owner told me. None of these cars were officially imported to the US. And only a few have made it here via private importation. I located this car in the Philippines in place called Quezon City, affectionately known as "the pearl of the philippines". And rightfully so: Gorgeous women. 50cents for a beer. and a pack of smokes runs about a dollar. but im digressing again... back to the car. I would describe this S800 as a very good to excellent restoration of a rust free car. All the work has been done with the exception of a few small details, like maybe replace or polish out the old original turn signals. The engine has excellent compression and the brakes work fine. It really hauls butt for a 2cyl 800 cc disp car. The interior has been restored to better that original condition with excellent leather on the original aluminum seats. The targa top seal fine and doesn't leak. It is a fine show piece and attracts huge crowds wherever its parked. Especially in Manilla which is affectionately known as "the armpit of the philippines"... but that my friend, is another story.
