that looks legit to me.
a couple years ago there was a company that made a similar product that acted like a NOS kit. it would turn on when you were at WOT or when you pushed a button. the company ended in a flop cause the kit wasnt as complete like the NOS kits and it was a ridiculous middle ground for real boost.
i dont remember the name but i think the company was knight something. i bet there is a member that knows what i am talking about.. |

It looks like the first gen version. It isn't a supercharger that creates boost. It's simply helping air move into the engine (similar to a conical filter intake system).
Right now, on an NA engine, the air is "sucked" in by the engine. With this "fan", it will help move air into the intake system/air hose/throttle body (wonder where it's installed?) to help create some power. It will work, but won't be providing any major output. Just allowing the engine to be slightly more efficient (hence the minimal emissions effect, as stated in the article).
If it's $300 or so, it would probably be worth it (as an alternative to your typical short ram/cold air intake system). If it's anywhere near what a turbo/sc setup would cost, it would be highway robbery. |
