The supercharger is CARB certified (California Air Resourced Board) so it is smog legal. Only some of the cold air intakes TRD commissioned weren't carb legal.
This will be covered under your powertrain warranty OR 12 months from date of installation, whichever is LONGER (yea, usually shorter, but this one benefits you, lol). |

Sir, I like your way of thinking..I completely agree with you, anybody with money can buy a fast car and make it fast, but to own a low power factory toaster and modifying it to smoke STi's sounds like a project and alot of fun.
I want to get the simple kit now...lol |

I don't think the warranty will remain in tact after you install a supercharger. It is probably intended for off road use only.
oops. ignorance WAS bliss.... does a California Air Resources Board Executive Order mean anything to you?? |

At scion united, the head of TRD research and development stated that, installed by the dealer the SuperCharger will carry the 5 year 60K factory warranty.
Cory, I heard you missed scion united so that you could work on your turbo. 800 hundred miles too far for some trinkits and free booze? |

| I'll wait till it drops under 2k like the 05-06 tc s/c did. For 40 hp I'll buy a nitrous kit and save me $3k. |

| ok so I heard tonight at a scion meeting tonight that the xB2 supercharger will have a massive output something like it will bring the car from the stock 161hp to around 300hp. I was told they talked about it at scion united has anyone else heard these rumors or does anyone know anything about it. I guess they had all the specs there I was unable to make it so can someone please enlighten me if they have heard anything like that. |

| The flyer from scion united claimes 200 horsepower and available June 2nd. That was also the impresion i was given by all TRD people. The only differance from the TC kit is a CAI. |

| Does anyone know what the tc's are geting with underdrive pullys? I mean yeah the turbo is nice infact its awesome 300hp would be awesome and if the supercharger for the xb only had a 12mo warranty that would sway me into getting a turbo but with a 5yr 60k warranty like they say the new supercharger will have thats hard to beat. |

| I was hoping to get this kit, but for that price I'm going to skip it for now. If it comes down in price I may look into it, but for my daily driver I will never go turbo/something without a warranty. I am only looking for a boost in performance, not a track car or something that is going to beat an sti. I bought this car for personal tastes(at the moment anyways), not for speed. I want to buy/build a track beast, an old mustang or late 80's crx, something that doesn't need to get me to work every morning:) Also, I honestly don't think an xb at 300hp(about the same as an sti at crank) is going to beat an sti, which I believe is lighter and also awd. If I had the choice of buying an sti at 300hp from the factory, or buying an xb and making it 300hp, I'm going to choose the sti. Luckily I didn't buy the xb based on price/performance though:) |

| I'n my opinion you cant put an xB in the sti category. AWD is awesome. Now if we had a rumion AWD with a turbo straight from japan it might be a different story but we don't so we have to compare our car to 4cyl front wheel drive cars. I used to have a 91 honda civic hatchback and with st springs and sway bars, cold air intake, 3in exhaust no cat or resinator it was a suprisingly fast car. I think stock was 91hp or something like that the little 1.5l engine didn't put out much but it sure liked high rpms. I would put that car up against an xB any day of the week and it got better gas mileage. |

I'm interested in the S/C for my xb2...but i've got a ?
since the S/C comes with a Cold air intake would that mean i would have to get rid of my TRD Cold air intake that i already have in? or can I keep it in with the S/C? |

| Your TRD CAI won't work with the S/C. You can keep it in case you decide to go back to N/A or sell it. |

The tC supercharger was not compatible with the TRD CAI because of the mounting points. Since the mounting locations slightly change due to the blower assembly, it's likely the TRD one you currently have will not be compatible.
I have not seen the kit yet (not released in the Los Angeles region yet), so I cannot give you a first-hand impression. I'll be doing an onslaught of orders until it's in my hands though. I will do a comparison versus the TRD intake so we'll have a definite answer.
Edit:
My order went through. I'll be coming into work on my day off tomorrow to check  |
