| you can do it but you have to use an FM modulator for sirius. it will still sound ok. you can put the reciever unit behind the radio in the dash. there is a lot of room to put stuff in there, including illegal drugs. |

Yeah. I'm also curious.
Those of you who have the factory XM radio.... Where did they hide your XM tuner?
I want to go with an aftermarket XM setup because I get reimbursed 50 percent of the cost through my work if I get XM installed at a select list of retailers ( I work for the company that designed the microwave transmitters that went into the satellites that XM uses).
Thanks |

| stupid question: is the tuner the same tuner that pioneer sells in the stores? Meaning, if I were to buy it (as well as cable and antenna ofcourse!), could I install it myself and not pay the $958 the dealer wants? |

I believe no. I recall seeing it posted that the radio only takes the plug Pioneer made for the head unit. Do a search of the threads and I am sure you will find what I am talking about.

the dealer charges to much....you could get it installed about half the cost at best buy.. i have sirius....
i installed the tuner custom into my headliner....and the reciever went underneath the passangers seat carpet(under the glove box.) |

PT546-52040. I've seen it as cheap as $416 + shipping. That's still pretty expensive. If anyone is wanting to sell theirs for any reason let me know. |

for that price you can get an aftermarket mp3, tuner, and an antenna that all works together
my pionner tuner is $150 and another $40 for antenna |
