|
|
| My brother has a set of trd shocks/struts that are brand new and wants to know if I want them before he tries to sell them. I have Tein S-tech lowering springs and am wondering if anyone is running the trd setup with lowering springs? |

TRD setup won't be as low, and it'll ride a lil stiffer...
S-Tech's have a lower drop then the TRDs.... |

Your original reply sounds like your talking about springs.
I am looking for anyone who has trd shocks and struts with lowering springs other than the trd ones and their opinions on how the car rides.
You have the setup I am talking about? |

Anyway, to the dude with the s-techs and stock shocks... if you put the TRD struts on you're not going to be raising your car despite what the genius from Texas stated. However you will get a much stiffer ride... unless you autocross your car I'd stick with the stock struts... if your roads are anything like the ones here the extra stiffness would just not be worth it. As it is now I almost fly out of my seat on interstate 64 with s-techs here in Hampton Roads VA |

i drove around for a year on s-tecks with monro sensa tracks from the echo.
it was alot smoother than the stock shocks/struts
im not to sure about the TRD shocks/struts, my understanding is it will be stiffer.
if you are looking for a softer ride, id stay away from the TRD shocks/struts. |

| Yea I want a smoother ride. bB2NER was telling me about the monroe that were made for the xb. He said those work great. Should I go with the ones that are made for the xb or the ones that are made the to echo? |

you all need to relax a bit, you would want some one acting like that if you had a valid question. |

Well if you don't understand that"TRD Setup=TRD shocks/springs" then you're an idiot...
Yet again, like I said, you'll have a stiffer ride on TRD, SHOCKS & SPRINGS, then say the Tien S Tech springs and whatever else shock or strut combo ur planning to run....
I break that down enough for you Prescottn? Or do I need to throw up a flo chart to while I'm at it? |

Come on guys be nice to each other, all I wanted to know by starting this thread was how the TRD Shocks/springs work with lowering springs.
DVSAZN - Your original post sounded like you were talking about just springs. So no need to call anyone an idiot, because more than one person were unclear on your original post so that means it wasn't as clear as it should have been, not with everyone else.
If people are going to argue or say stupid things, keep it out of this thread. This thread was suppose to be informative, not for people to be rude to each other. |

TRD springs already lower @ 1.5 I believe... Your Tien's gonna drop about 1.7...
Tien's = Softer
TRD = Stiffer
As for the shocks, regardless if you combo the them with the Tiens or the TRD's the spring rate from the springs is gonna have the most effect on your ride quality....
/end
**** EDIT ****
Actually correction... Was wrong on the drop rate... S Techs drop 1.5 and settle around 1.7 to 2 inches... TRD springs drop 1 inch and settle at about 1.25 to 1.5 inches...
/end |
