How complicated would it be to make a clear hood for the xb? I've heard many people over the years express interest, but thus far... nothin'.
Anybody have any expertise in this area? |

cheap for me but i dont know how much that plastic would cost depends on what thick nesds i go with and it is not very big lol. I am going to think of making it out of lime green color and i will let you know how much it weill cost later tonight if you want to check back lol. I think the turn around would not be long and it would look nice might take a couple tries but i will get it just have to make a templete of the hood the i can make it lol. If i get it good would you be interested in getting one. Just wondering?!!

Sounds pretty awesome for shows, especially for night ones if you have engine bay lighting. I'd be scared to drive with it on though, most shapeable plastics are thermoplastic and could deform from the engine heat. A castable clear resin would be more heat resistant but they tend to be brittle. Good luck with it, maybe you can build a metal or fiberglass frame with a clear "window" covering the majority of the hood.

Just have to use the right plastic that is heat resist that wont deform and if you rap your headers like i did you wont have to much engine bay heat in there i can race my car around and go back and touch my headers and it will not burn me i dont do it a lot just tested it one time lol.

I may know of a hood that you can borrow, just pay for the shipping etc, and maybe a deal on a finished product. :lalala:

How much will the shipping be i dont know how long it will take me because it does have a couple bends on it on the front and the one on the rear and i dont know how much the hood can take on damage lol but i will try if you want to ship the hood to me because it would be hard to do it on mine i would have to take the hood off and do it then put it back on and off lol. But if you send the hood to me you pay for shipping i will make a real good deal on the hoods for yall if i can make it. if i cant i will ship the hood back to you my expense. I will try to see what else i can make out of plastic to i wil llet you know lol!!
