| Posted: 8/6/08 2:30PM Post subject: idling problems on new turbo install - PLEASE HELP! |
|
|
| completed motor swap with greddy turbo. running emanage basic and have put about 300 miles on it so far. everything was working normal until today. i havent driven it since sunday. the car is idling at 2500 rpm. it starts out going between 500 and 2500 rpms like its trying to find the right rpm to idle at but it ultimately idles at 2500 rpm. i took emanage out of the picture and same problem happens with stock ecu. no check engine light. accelerator pedal is free and so is throttle cable. did emanage corrupt my stock ecu? need help desperately. |

| I'm sure there could be many things that could be wrong, but in my limited info to share, have u tried checking your spark plugs? If 1 or more of your plugs are not firing your engine will idle higher and would have a strong gas smell from your exhaust. Hope this helps |

| How do you like the turbo kit? Can you feel a big difference in power? |

I was going to tell you to check the ISCV because when i had the engine head removed and my mechanic cranked the car for the first time it idled fine for 10 min then it went wacko, just like what your saying. We checked a couple of things but eventually we found out it was the ISCV.
Another thing you can check are the 2 sensors that plug into the throttle body which would also cause irradic idle. If they are not connected, there is your problem./ |

| turbo is nice. helps to have the lsd too. running 10psi with emanage blue. will eventually get ultimated tuned. not good on gas mileage tho. I haven't had the chance to do a 0-60 test yet. was doing 9 seconds before turbo. |
