Is it just me or did the 2nd Gen bB never take off.
Yeah I see a few on the road here and there, but obviously is nowhere near the cult status of our 1st Gens.
From the start, I hated the new design, which I personally thought Scion should have never messed with it.
Another plus is the resale value on the 1st gens... it just keeps rising.
Whats your take?[/b] |

| I think with the 2nd gen, it's not attracting the "quirky" crowd as much as the 1st gen. There are still quite a few people that like it b/c it's different... but not to the extent as before. So more people are buying them now for it's utility or just happen to like the styling for what it is. |

The didn't and I knew they wouldn't. I've seen like 2 xB2s in the last month compaired to 10 or so xBs. No amount of modding can help them look cool. You know the old saying about polishing a turd...
Now if they had continued in the right path and brought the new bB that would be a whole different story. |

just to be politically correct, the 2nd gen xB != bB.
the xB2 did okay i think, but it didnt live up to the expectations that corporate had for it i think. personally, i think they overhyped it, overmarketed it, overdid the "cool-ness" of it, and most of all, listened to the american public literally. all these combined into the xB2, a vehicle that looked right on paper but was poorly executed and delivered. seriously, i'm going to be honest: it looks like a slug. no amount of convincing or whatever can make it look better to me. it's as simple as that. it's purely an american market car that does what we americans do best: bigger is better. |

wow kinda harsh guys, I like the new xB and will prob get one in the future. I like that its got more cargo room and feels more stable and powerful on the hwy. wish they had better gas mileage but what can you do. My 06 has 23k miles right now and adding to that very fast, so maybe in a year or two i would look at gettin one, but I do agree nothin beats a first gen, its my favorite car ever!
oh and Im never goin to sell my xB btw hope it lasts forever. |

| the new xb is only marginally faster yet it gets much worse mileage and it grew to humongous yet has less legroom front and rear. |

The whole Scion image is sorta stagnating right now.
They need to realize that to keep their 'edginess' they need to make cars that aren't just another Toyota. |

| The new bB would have kept the excitement from the first xB going way better than the xB2 did IMHO. |

It's hard to tell - I have a hard time spotting them, they way they BLEND IN with everything else on the road... :tap:
"Is that an xB2?! No, it's a Rav4. Is THAT an xB2? No, it's a Grand Caravan that's slightly further away than I thought. Is THAT an xB2? Oh, EYUCK, it's an HHR. AAAUUGGHH." |

Check out Toyota/Scion dealerships and see how many new xB2s you can count! Plenty!
When our xBs were still selling, you couldn't find any! People were waiting weeks for them to arrive and maybe even longer if you purchased the dealer "mods" from them installed. |

It's not just you.
Not mine: I got it from a guy who provided it in the "OUR SALES ARE UP FROM LAST YEAR {WHEN WE DIDN'T HAVE ANY CARS}" thread.
If this isn't "not taking off," I don't know what is... |
