I put the NST Pulley and Bosch 110 roughly 2 weeks back, and everything was fine as of yesterday. Last night while I was driving home I heard a whistling coming off of the S/C....NOT the regular whistling coming off of the S/C but a secondary whistling sound.
In my mind im thinking that the worst case is that a seal might be messing up or a bearing might be messing up too....hopefully its just a noise induced by the Pulley install and nothing is wrong.

Any info fellas on what could be happening?

UPDATE:

That moan gradually got worse so I took it in to my friend at West Kendall Toyota, apparently the moaning and groaning was occuring because I had actually destroyed the blower, they havent specified the cause yet, they just ordered another blower for me.

All the trouble began after I installed the 9.5 psi pulley, Im actually going to put the pulley back on the car when the new blower comes in to see what happens, hopefully i'll have better luck then.

its something like air whistling, its a separate whistiling from the original S/C sound, which in itself is a purring sound.

check were the bypass valve return line goes into the supercharger! When its dealer installed they dont use a clamp there.

Ive seen them blow off before with out a clamp, so when i put mine on i threw a clamp on there.

also make sure ur bpv did not pop out of ur charge pipe!

Let me know which one fixes ur problem!

hmm i doubt its the bpv popping out because it would be such a subtle whistle, its very audible a partial throttle but not audible at all at WOT or at idle......which seems little strange to me.

Ill check it out either way though

im still gonna check it out for safety/reassurance purposes but i tend to get nervous with all the problems on the 05-06 s/c so any little change kinda freaks me out :(

^^you shouldnt be. the 9.5 has been installed many times. most important thing is to line everything up perfectly when installing it. the more common side effect would be a blown seal because it is spinning much faster. there have been cases of blown s/c's, and they were stock setup. if you're going to put it on, the important thing is a good installation.

Nah I had y friend install it for me, he happens to be a customer assistant at Toyota so he is hooking it up with a warrantied repair, he just asked me for my stock parts and ill probably end up putting the pulley back on when I get the car back

OK so I got a call from my buddy and he is telling me that there is a big problem.

Toyota kicked back my original supercharger, they said they can not warranty the part because TRD has to cover their asss for the repairs, and that THEY ARE NOT THE SAME COMPANY? So they made me take back my car today (with a New S/C) so the TRD tech can take a look at my car and snap some pictures....THEN I have to wait for TRD to warrant a repair so THEY can ship out ANOTHER brand new S/C....so at Toyota they are going to take off the new one they put on last week, and put another new TRD supercharger on my car sent by TRD.....

this is getting slightly ridiculous......plus if the TRD tech doesnt warrant the work they are probably going to try and charge me the 2k for a new S/C....

My SC did the same thing shortly after installing the NST pulley (couple months after at most) ... not saying it is or isn't the cause, more likely it was put on improperly. Either way it's not going back on. I'm staying at 7lbs for a while.

If your bpv popped off you'd get a cel for a massive vacuum leak.

I checked out the BPV and it was on just fine, I also didnt get any CELs so i was just worried something was wrong with the blower so I took it in

well its not necessarily the Pulley itself, there are tons of S/C tCs that run it with no problem, I just guess I have shitty luck.

the old SC units also had issues coupled with bad installs by inexperienced mechanics.

My new SC is silent. You can barely hear it purr. Unlike the old unit that sounded like a jet taxiing around from day one.

checho10 - I had it bad too. My short block ate something that came off the SC. Whole thing had to be replaced.
