| not many manufacturers make 195/60/16. user reviews on the few that do make them are poor to mediocre. would the 215/55/16 fit on the standard rim without any suspension modifications? |

| Don't see why not, I have 225/45/17's and others are running the same 225 width on 18's. Only problem I see would be the 6.5" width of the stock rim, but should be ok. |

it's my fault that i wasn't more accurate with my question. i meant to ask if the standard rim would accommodate 215/55/16? |

Call your local tire shop and ask them if this tire size would fit on your stock rims. Haven't heard of anyone running that size on stock rims. |

that's what i'm going to do, but isn't the original rim 6.0" and not 6.5" ? |

| No the original rim is 16 x 7. Thats what size wheel i am using with the oem tires. It fits just fine. You can even go to the dealership and take a tape measure. measure one of the scion 16 rims that you can buy for like 700 bucks. Thats what i did to make certain before ordering. |

i can't say carsdirect.com is the gospel, but according to them, the scion xd uses 6.0x16 rims. |

| All i know is what the tape measure told me and what my oems are wrapped around right now. I had no issues putting my oem's on a set of 16x7's and i had the dealers do it before i picked up the car. maybe that one inch does not make that big of a difference, i dont know. |

use this:
http://www.1010tires.com/tiresizecalculator.asp
It shouldn't be a problem, the width is fine and it will be a tad taller. It will also throw off your speedo a little, but you will be fine |
