Hello guys, as some of you might knwo i sold my AEM FIC and wanting to get Emanage Ultimate as from the research i've done EManage Ultimate for now is more reliable. Now i've contacted one of the local tuning shop in NY metro area " No limit Motorsport" and whoever is talking to me via emals basically said that i;m taking a step back with Ultimate and here are few emails he sent me.

EMAIL 1:

OK, well, I must say, you actually took a step backwards in terms of reliability. The AEM would have done a much better job, and helped prevent exactly what you said, “in case cars starts to act weird after the tune ?”

After the car is tuned, if there are any small problems or certain spots that need to be cleaned up, so the car drives better, by all means, yes, we will do it. If after 3 months, the ECU has totally corrected what the emanage is trying to compensate for, we will try to clear the stock computer for you, and hope that it fixes it. Otherwise, for full throttle, the tune usually isn’t a problem and will hold. When you have everything installed and running, please let us know so we can schedule a day for you to come down. Thanx

EMAIL 2:

Its not so much that its defiantly going to happen, override, that is. There isn’t much of a serious problem, as it normally only overrides the low end (partial throttle), however, if for some reason, it started messing with the full throttle stuff, that could be bad. I cant remember if I tuned a Scion with a emanage lately, since most of them have used the FIC. I guess, best thing I could recommend, would be to get on the forums, see what people are having the best short and long term results with, and go with that. The emanage will defiantly work as long as you have the extra MAP sensor so it can be tuned with boost, which is one nice thing about the AEM, since it has a built in MAP sensor.

SO guys what should i do ? any inputs to helo me finally decide ?

What were your reasons for ditching the F/IC?

How bad are the "hiccups?" Because once you start modding your car, it will never run like it did factory. There are always things that will be a little off.

There should be plenty of places in NYC that can tune an F/IC. Why not Dezod or No Limit like you posted in your first post?

Contact Ptuning and see what they say about the E-manage Ultimate, they are using the Ultimate on their tC time attack car, and they are having little to know problems. However I am not sure how much work they have into programming it.

Well there are few places, No Limit Motorsport , there is also Ripp Modz to name a few...
but for example local member Ejoithis had problems after a tune done my Rip Modz, aldo markymarc had problems as well.

I did see one member posted that hes car was running good after No Limir Motorsport tuned it.

Dezod shop is in buffali thats 6 hours away. and with u-tuned car it will take even longer, plus i really dont wan tto drive untuned car for 6 hours straight.

i've never had an issues with the utlimate. the ECU never tried to override it or anything as far as i know. also, if it does override the tune, you can reload your map. if it keeps re-occuring thats when you would need to take it in for another session.

^^ i think theyre busy rebuilding their tc.. but yeah every tuner has different opinions and preference on which unit they want to tune.. go to someone who is willing or believe what your EMS can do, or else be ready to get not a very good tune

hey Yev, As far as I know from reading on the forum the emanage Ultimate is a great piggyback. I have not ever read of any major issues and if there where any issues its usually with the tune anyways. The AEM f/ic is good but i believe the Ultimate has a few certain areas it is better in than the f/ic from the opinions i have read. Id ask Dezod what they think though or try contacting p-tuning.

Check out thsi thread after page 3 they start talking about some piggybacks and full stand alones. They say a few good things with about the ultimate and i believe they say you can raise the rev-limiter with the ultimate which you cannot do with the AEM f/ic.

now the only question is, do i need pressure sensor or not ?

pressure sensor I say is a must, you can run without it but it makes your tune a lot better
