http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/04-07-Scion-Xa-Xb-Black-Ceramic-Performance-Header-05_W0QQitemZ300249635029QQcmdZViewItem?hash=item300249635029&_trkparms=39%3A1%7C65%3A1%7C240%3A1318&_trksid=p4506.c0.m245

Just wondering if these are even worth looking at. The welds look good, i don't know what metal they are using, but 25 dollars "buy now"? CRAZy!

TIG welds are leet in my opinion, and these welds look pro. If it is really ceramic coated maybe i dont need a heat shield for my EgG. Or should I heat wrap them for an extra 40 bucks and still save like 1 million dollars compared to the megan racing headers?

I finally have some dough to throw at my car and this deal sounds soo crazy it could be true :)

Thanks,

Regis

Pure stainless steel is not magnetic. Spend the bones and get something that will last.

Regis, are you up to installing a header? You may have my honors, I was going to let the dealer do it during my 20k mile check. I have ms and after spending 2 hours on the strup muffler, I decided the header would be too painful to do tall as I am bent over the car, plus if I wimp out, it will need to be towed vs driven to the shop. You want a cheap mufler, not a cheap header. Too much heat in a small area, plus you got to let it cool to work on.

Yea then i'll just get a 5 dollar muffler or something (LOL) and then get a Megan Racing Header. I just REALLY like the black ceramic coating, but do not want to coat megan's cuz it would cost to much.

Would it be easy to put the heat wrap on the megan racing headers? Since the new ones cant fit in the factory heat-shield i figured might as well play it safe and not burn my firewall :( :)

I read too much conflcting info online on wrapping the header and besides, the last thing this world needs is another white guy to start wrapping.

I opted to get mines coated. I was going to get some steel zip ties to reattach the heat shield. Thats after I get someone from scionlife to help me install it while I watch. :)

I am getting it installed Friday. The coating was from me and a can of 1200 degree ceremaic paint from pepboys. I followed the instructions and put it in the oven so it sticks correctly. The strup muffler makes power to red line, 35mpg rather I am easy or a butthold when I drive.

looks goood, goodjob bud. Also i was personally told from MMW staff that they do not approve of wrapping it. I dont remember if any1 said coating it was bad tho? Ill search for it in a bit. But if u say its fine, then ill probably think about doing it too, because ive had mine for about 6 months and it has some ugly butt burn spots... Coating it would make it look super sexyy. Let me know how it is after u run the car with it on after a week or something. Oh and sorry for being off topic. i just had to ask.

Thanks man, Tony

I read so much bad stuff about wrapping and see many come ceramic coated, I decided to at least do that to help protect it. The paint/coating is not cheap and takes a week to do. Good thing I did it before install.

O damn, well good job man. Cuz coating it shuld protect ugly burn spots from forming wen u fully run the header.

Got my car back and drove it home partly through a hurricane.

Man, its well refined in performance. It seems to at least it feels like it has a much more broader torque curve. Maybe a bit less to red line, but more from idle to 5 grand. Also it sounds quieter too.

You put on a header and it got quieter? That's the first I've heard that happening.

You must be thinking of an open header or the 50 dollar one. You get what you pay for. I have had a few people say the same thing, it got quieter than louder?

It reminds me of driving my benz releasing the clutch at idle and taking it up to 3 grand and shifting. It doesnt shutter or rattle the change in my ash tray releasing the clutch at such low rpms with the ac on full blast, fogs, lights and both wipers. I bet with just the engine on it will feel even sweeter.
