|
|
| What is the easiest way to get the #74 bulb out of the cubby hole without breaking the bulb? Also I would like to see some pics of some interiors to get some ideas of what options are out there. Does anyone know what site has the cheapest leds? |

| you have to take off the center panel and get behind it and pull it out ( maybe you have to twist it too) |

i didnt have to take off the center panel to swap mine out. i accessed it from the passenger side. you need to pop out the little plug that holds the carpet in place, peel back the carpet and reach your hand into the area behind the cubby. use caution and feel around and you will locate the backside of the plug assembly, gently twist it and you will feel it free up and you can then back it out. remove the stock bulb and replace with your new one, i was careful not to touch the new bulb with my fingers. guide the piece back in and then secure the assembly, push the carpet back into place, plug the hole with the plug you removed and you will be done.
i had ordered two blue bulbs, but forgot where i got them from. the color has faded away after a year, so i need to put the new one in, but i can't find it, d'oh! |

uhh.. accessing it thru the passenger footwell area is alot easier and faster for me..
much LESS work needed.. reach behind, twist, pull out bulb, put in new one, twist back in.
a few less steps than: yank shifter panel (lower waterfall out), yank waterfall out (unplugging the hvac as well), reaching back to get the socket...
(repeat steps above)
... replace the panels back in...
yea... a few seconds vs. at least a good minute.... i'll take the few seconds. |

i went behind the carpet on the passenger side.
i bought a CF cubby panel because i hate light from that area, and never used the cubby anyways. |
