Ok, I just put on my Weapon*R Engine Torque Damper, and my car seems different, but when I'm stopped and in drive, it vibrates like crazy, what could this be? Have I put it on wrong, is there something I can do with the damper?

is it connected right? it looks like it's gonna touch the other line..
shouldn't it be attached on the other side of the bracket where it is next to the engine?
i dunno.. |

| try some Edead on the mount . should help alittle. you will always get some type of vibration b/c the ETD is transfering the movement to the car chassis. |

ohh... yea.. you will get alot more vibration as it is with the ETD... i was thinking more of a rattle when i answered above.
you'll have to pretty much deal with that, though a little sound dampening will help. sandwich the thing. |

yes you are right. it is too close to the ac line. it was installed improperly.
might be the cause of a little vibration.
swap it to the other side first.
also, did you adjust the length of the heim joints before installing? i have a massive post on here somewhere about installing the ingalls and setting the proper length. its on my blog somewhere too.
people always think you can just slap these things on without adjustment... |

1. Measure the distance between the eye on the strut tower bracket and the eye on the engine mount bracket.
2. Buy an MTB air shock of the same eye-to-eye length.
3. Take off Weapon R damper, put air damper on.
4. Throw that worthless Weapon R elastomer housing away.
5. Enjoy a rattle-free life. |

there are no rattles with a properly installed etd. but you will get engine noise transferred to the cabin.
try installing your equipment correctly, before buying new things.
it should have come with instructions, but this is my writeup on install of the ingalls. should be the same for yours.

dme and ingalls both have the heim joint closest to the engine block on the right side of the bracket....away from the ac lines. i don't know why you would place yours closer.
and adjust the heim joint length. if you just slapped it on this is the reason for your intense vibration. read the writeup i posted above. adjustment technique will be the same. |
