Quote: This makes sense when you think about it. Cars have computers and computers have always had hidden Easter eggs and cheat codes, so it was inevitable that someone would find a cheat code hidden inside a car. Case in point: here’s way to disable the traction/skid control systems called VDIM on the Lexus IS:
“start the car with the parking brake on ….then foot brake twice….(keep the foot brake down)….then parking brake twice (keep it down )and repeat till skid light is on the dash…..it will reset when you restart the car”
Apparently, this disables everything but the ABS. Source: VWVortex Forums via Digg

Still it's possible. My truck has something in the computer called "Torque management" that when removed, the stock 245 ft/lb crank torque gets closer to 300 at the crank. |

I wont recommend it for everyday driving though...I wonder if we can turn off the xB's VSC? :eyebrow: I wouldn't do it as it might not turn on again. |

Four easy steps to disable Scion xB VSC:
Step one, get baseball bat
Step two, locate VSC brain
Step three, apply liberal impact to VSC brain using baseball bat (use non-handle end)
Step four, Test that VSC will no longer function by having friends push car down street, vigorously turning left to right and back, |
