Default Steering rubbing/knocking noise

When the car heats up and especially when I turning the steering wheel it starts to make a rubbing noise. I took it to good year and they said nothing is wrong, but the noise is significant enough to know something is off. My dad mentioned it could possibly be the exhaust pipe towards the front of the car that when the exhaust heats up it is causing something to expand which does rub up against something else. The noise is quite loud from the inside, but can't be heard as well when standing outside of the car.

Anyone with similar experiences?

I just got mine diagnosed and was told my steering noise was related to a loose housing because of a bad drivers side axle? I am waiting on a second opinion, because if i actually have a loose steering column i don't want to keep driving on it after i have the driver and passenger cv replaced (makes sense to do both sides in my opion to save on labor).
