TRD/Aftermarket exhaust moving 56K warning
So, I have been gettin a lot of questions and scions showing up with messed up TRD mufflers burning their bumpers. And I decided to investigate and found that there is an exhaust gasket that goes in between the muffler and pipe. Special order from toyota, and is covered by toyota.(If you had the dealer install the muffler) If you installed your own muffler and the gasket goes bad then you need to pay for a new gasket yourself.
Muffler burning the bumber.
New gasket (part#90917-06082) and old gasket
the new gasket is flat and not cone shaped.
when you install the new gasket you have to pull down on it to shape the pipe. So after you pull down on it the gasket is cone shaped.
After the muffler will be centered again and you will have a burnless bumper again.
Thanks to Maddworrx for allowing me to show his set-up to you.

i had the gasket prob with mine too. i had the dealer fix it once, and it was coo for like 2 months, and it did it again, so i just took it to a reputable muffler shop, and did away with the whole clamp and gasket thing, and welded it straight on. its way better now, perfectly centered, and wont ever do that again
