Shift linkage problem

Is it possible to adjust the shift cables? Does anyone make aftermarket shift cables?

what do you mean by adjust?

There are shifter bushings that really help take the slop out of the shifter. I just installed an SS with the bushing that has really made the car a lot more fun to drive. Hands down one of the best bang for the buck mod you can do.

^ underhood bushings?

Shifter cage bushings and the "underhood bushing" will make a fair difference in feel. Aftermarket shift cables do nothing, and I think only one company tried toying with them. There is no real adjustment to them.

Yes they are the under hood brass bushings.

I fixed the problem, I have solid bushings in the shift cage and in the the shift cable ends, the snap ring in one of the bushings in the cable got warped. The bad snap ring allowed the bushing to move around making shifting very inaccurate and cause grinding. I took it out and put back in one of the stock rubber bushings and now the car is back to shifting smooth as butter.
