BZinn1 05-29-2009 12:29 AM

yeah for some reason I cannot find it anywhere either........think it is a dealership item only.

killatc171 05-29-2009 12:31 AM

yea thats what the guy at advanced said it was a dealer only item.

killatc171 05-29-2009 12:37 AM

so i mean to be honest i can just walk into any toyota dealer and just buy it? i mean they just keep it instock i mean.

emptystreets130 05-29-2009 12:39 AM

Only at the dealer. It's Toyota's special blend. Be sure you pick up the right pink stuff from Toyota. They have the lifetime pink and the regular pink used in the early 00's vehicle. If you're topping off, water will be fine until you do the proper flush.

draxcaliber 05-29-2009 12:39 AM

yeah, but it isn't like the tc MUST have pink coolant, i've been running green coolant from my b&g radiator flush for over year now and my tc stays cool as can be, weathter in traffic, supercharged, autocrossing or my 2000 mile round trip to florida. sure, toyota's long life pink coolant is great stuff, but your not going to suffer a melt down using any other quality coolant.

emptystreets130 05-29-2009 12:41 AM

You can use the green stuff if your complete flush the system. Meaning that everything in the radiator, block and the heater core has to be flushed.

killatc171 05-29-2009 12:47 AM

killatc171 05-29-2009 12:49 AM

and yea i know i dont really need to use the toyota stuff. but im just going to stick with what came with the car. dont feel like doing a flush and all that.

emptystreets130 05-29-2009 12:50 AM

Are you topping off the reservoir? If so, just put water in it.

killatc171 05-29-2009 12:56 AM

yea thats all im doing. but i was told def not to put water.

SFTifoso 06-02-2009 02:53 AM

I'm pretty sure if you just put water in it won't hurt anything. Just make sure it's not tap water. You can also order the Motul orange concentrated mix. It's free of all the chemicals Toyota says (Nitrite free / Amine free / Phosphate free / Borate free / Silicate free)

does anyone know for sure if it stillhas to be dionized water or distilled water in the system,I ask cause the reason I thought it was not to use tap water was it created a static charge in iron blocks using steele heads and led to corrosion.Been so long I do not remember,I still use dionized water to this day though.

since we have an all aluminum block it should not have the same problems right......

XIEmperorIX 06-02-2009 04:57 AM

how often do you guys flush your coolant? I'm at 32k miles on my tC and haven't flushed it yet?

car temps are ok but I know that shouldn't be my only indicator lol

GammaTNT 06-02-2009 05:32 AM

coolant are suppose to be change at 100k miles.

TcPrincess 06-03-2009 12:53 AM

just put water in it. the only cars you cant use water in are the hybrids.

killatc171 06-22-2009 08:06 PM

ok well let me ask one more question. ive seen antifreeze at walmart and stuff that says you can add to any color and any make or model cant i just use that?
