Gas light on... How much miles is left?
 

I can't remember approx how many miles before empty?? Sorry guys I don't have my manual yet.

I've done 30 in traffic

According to the manual, the gas light should come on when approximately 2.2 gallons are left in the tank, so the number of miles left depends on conditions. If you're doing about 55 miles per hour, I think at least 60 miles would be do-able, maybe 70, but I wouldn't want to test the theory myself enough to find out for sure. :pray:

I have pushed it probably 50 miles though. I was lucky enough to have the roads to myself, so I was doing 50 mph in a 55mph zone, which seems to be the most efficient speed, at least in my automatic transmission. I use ultragauge to judge instantaneous fuel economy, by the way.

i have tried 40+ miles when light turns on. After that i pump 13+ gallon to fill up the tank in full.

its harder on your fuel pump when you do that,more then likely early failure

Did 55 miles once. Didn't have time to get gas but threw a 2 gal gas can in the back just to be safe. Put in over 14 gal at the pump...

speaking of not pushing your luck, just today an SUV stopped in the middle of an intersection and just as i passed, i saw the owner pouring gas into the car

i got over 70 miles trying to find a gas station in death valley. thought for sure i was gonna run out. its a 14.5 gallon tank and when i filled up, i put 14.35 gallons in it, lol. so id say try not to go any more than 50 miles if you can help it

Ya i did anywhere from 60 to 75 miles on the fuel light. i left my house for class when i first got the car and i was late so i drove 30 miles or so there and then i forgot to fill up until i got back towards home. the only time i've seen 14 gallons on the pump since i traded in my truck

Thank you everyone!! Looks like min is 30 miles and near max is 70 with pushing it at 90+.
