Radio Won't Stay On
 

Hey guys,

I have the stock radio system (broke college student) and whenever I drive, my radio will randomly turn off. This will happen when I hit a bump, have my AC/lights/anything on, when it's hot/cold, or really just whenever the hell it wants to.

I know that it is not the battery since I replaced it last summer. It has been getting worse over the last year when it first started happening, which led me to replace the battery in the first place.

I looked around on here and saw some similar problems but none that sounded exactly like what is going on with my 2006 xA.

Any ideas on why this is happening?

Cheapest possible fix: Check all wiring connections on the back of the head unit.

Pull it out and make sure all of the plugs are connected right. Unplug them all and plug them in again making sure they are clipped in completely. It may be as simple as that.

I have has something similar: When starting the car, running it for a minute while radio is playing, the channel would switch by itself. Then, after about 6-7 months, my radio went completely numb: Doesn't turn on at all. Thinking it could be a fuse problem. Well, not even going to try to fix it now, just wanna get an in-dash audio receiver :D
