Hopefully this thread still gets views.
Anyway, I'm new here and am in the process of buying a 2005 xB from a dealership in Vancouver, BC. A Kia dealership has a brand new one for sale here and are asking $28k CDN for it. I was skeptical of the price but after reading what goes in to that kind of cost I'm little mor ecomfortable with paying it.
Although 28k CDN to USD is $23k... still seems like $7k is a lot of difference just to get the xB from US to here.
Thoughts?

There's also cost in importing the vehicle from the states, as well as the dealership pays tax on the vehicle when bringing it in. That and mark up of course is the reason for the price different.

Scions in Canada
I have had my xB for a couple months now. I have ordered a bunch of parts through various websites in the states. I have started to take receipt of them and looking forward to the next few weeks. Lambo door kit, adjustable coil overs, rear sway bar, AEM CAI, header, exhaust, gruond upgrade kit, tinted the windows, have dynamat throughout the hole truck. Next step is the alarm and stereo.
Any other xB's in Calgary??

another Scion (xb) fan here (Toronto)
I'm actually interested in getting one. Can anyone fill me in on some questions I have? Are there any dealerships (Toyota?) in Ontario that sell new Scion's??? Can I get parts from any Toyota dealership or do I have to import Scion parts from the States??? I have only seen one Scion XB ever....any insurance issues? Like if I tell my broker "I want to insure my Scion XB, will they go " what the hell is that?" lol
thanks.... Vahn_B@hotmail.com

I don't know the answers to your questions, Vahn, but there ARE other Canadian Scion owners here on SL...
(I just realized we can't actually search for them in the registry - I'm going to drop a note to Darren to see if maybe he will at least show Canada as a choice of location for those few folks who have a Scion there... )
I know of one on SL myself, and that's Eric (Rider) in Quebec, I'm sure there are others... We really do need some way for you folks to find each other, since a site like ScionLife is one of the only connections you might have.
(Hope you don't mind my letting the secret out, Eric! )

Hi again, guys and gals! I talked to Darren (he's the boss) about this and he's going to be taking care of this in the near future. Here's part of what he said:
Hang in there!
Yes, this is something I want to add in the near future...
For now members can just choose "--" as their state and enter their country in the county area. Many have done that already... when I get to upgrading the script I will definitely add the country feature.
Search for "--" in "State"
